    Abstract: In some examples, a package comprises a semiconductor die having a first surface and a second surface opposing the first surface, the semiconductor die including circuitry formed in the first surface. The package includes an acoustic waveguide in the semiconductor die, the acoustic waveguide including an array of capacitors. The array of capacitors includes a transducer portion and a diffraction grating portion. The transducer portion is configured to convert signals between electrical signals and acoustic waves, and the diffraction grating portion is configured to direct the acoustic waves toward and receive the acoustic waves from the second surface.

    Abstract: A millimeter wave molecular sensor system is provided. The system includes a physics cell configured to contain a sample, a directional coupler configured to receive input millimeter waves, partition the input millimeter waves into a pump signal and a probe signal for transfer to the physics cell, a receiver configured to receive millimeter waves exiting the physics cell, a Faraday rotator coupled between a pump transmitter and the physics cell, and a coupling iris coupled between the Faraday rotator and the physics cell, configured to pass millimeter waves having a first polarization into the physics cell. The Faraday rotator includes a Faraday material, and an electronic device configured to apply a magnetic field to the Faraday material parallel to a propagation direction of the millimeter waves such that when the electronic device is activated, the Faraday material rotates a polarization of the millimeter waves passing through the Faraday rotator.

    Abstract: For producing a low-power, low-phase noise oscillating signal using a self-injection locking oscillator, examples include: producing, using an oscillator, a signal having a base frequency component and an Nth harmonic component, in which N is a selected integer and N>1; filtering the signal through a bandpass filter with Q factor ≥5, the filter configured to pass the Nth harmonic component as a filtered Nth harmonic component; and injecting the filtered Nth harmonic component into the oscillator to self-injection lock the base frequency of the signal.

    Abstract: An oscillator includes: a bulk-acoustic wave (BAW) resonator having a first BAW resonator terminal and a second BAW resonator terminal; and an active circuit coupled to the first and second BAW resonator terminals and having a series resonance topology with: a first transistor; a second transistor; a first resistor; a second resistor; a capacitive network coupled to first and second BAW resonator terminals and to respective current terminals of the first and second transistors; and an inductor having a first inductor terminal and a second inductor terminal, the first inductor terminal coupled to the capacitive network, and the second inductor terminal coupled to ground terminal.
