    摘要: A fluorescent screen of a cathode ray tube is prepared by forming a film of photosensitive sticky substance, for example, an aqueous solution of a copolymer of a complex salt of diazonium salt and zinc chloride, on an inner surface of a face plate of the tube, exposing the film to light to render portions thereof sticky, applying a powdery substance, for example, phosphors of three colors, onto the film to cause the powdery substance to adhere to the portions of the film rendered sticky, removing excess powder to form a film pattern of the powdery substance, causing the substance responsible for stickiness to ooze out onto the film pattern, applying another powdery substance, for example, graphite onto the film pattern and removing an excess of another powder substance, thus forming the fluorescent screen. The invention is applicable to the manufacture of a fluorescent screen for use in a color picture tube, a monochromatic picture tube and a penetration tube.

    摘要: Surfaces of a perforated mask made of iron are allowed to contact with an acidic aqueous solution of antimony trichloride, e.g., a hydrochloric acid solution to form a thin film of metallic antimony on said surfaces. A protective coating of a phosphate is allowed to be deposited onto said thin film. Thereafter, said surfaces is heated in an oxygen atmosphere to produce a grayish black coating having an excellent thermal emission power. The perforated mask thus treated has no permanent deformation like wrinkles produced at a perforated sheet member and is uniform in color.

    摘要: An anti-reflection film is produced on the panel surface of a cathode-ray tube by: (A) preparing a solution for forming an anti-reflection film, which contains water and a metal alkoxide having the formula, M(OR).sub.n wherein M is a metal selected from the group consisting of Si, Ti, Al, Zr, Sn, In, Sb and Zn; R is an alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms; n is an integer of from 1 to 8; and when n is not 1, the alkyl groups represented by R may be the same or different, (B) coating the solution for forming an anti-reflection film on the outermost surface of the panel of a cathode-ray tube, and (C) applying an ultraviolet light to the solution for forming an anti-reflection film coated on said surface to cure the solution to form a transparent film with fine roughness. This production method is carried out using an apparatus having: (a) a coating means for coating the above solution for forming an anti-reflection film on the outermost surface of the panel of a cathode-ray tube, (b) a transferring means for transferring the solution-coated cathode-ray tube, and (c) an ultraviolet light-applying means for photocuring the solution coated on the cathode-ray tube during the transfer of the solution-coated cathode-ray tube. In the above method, when a silicon alkoxide is used as the metal alkoxide, there can be obtained a cathode-ray tube having an anti-reflection film made of alkali-free silica on the outermost surface of the panel, said anti-reflection film giving a ratio of Si-O-Si peak intensity to Si-OH peak intensity of 4 or more when measured for infrared spectrum.

    摘要: In the manufacture of a striped phosphor screen for a black matrix type color picture tube, a pattern of stripes of a light-absorbing material is first formed on the faceplate of a glass envelope to define transparent striped windows thereon by a known process and then phosphor materials are applied to the striped windows by the use of a nozzle assembly having at least one nozzle capable of discharging a phosphor material, without owing to the photolighography. The coating apparatus comprises a nozzle assembly including one or more nozzles, drivers for effecting relative movement between the nozzle and the faceplate of the glass envelope in a first direction in the plane of the faceplate and perpendicular to the stripes, in a third direction perpendicular to the faceplate and in a second direction longitudinal of the stripes, sensors for detecting the position of the nozzle, generators for producing a positional error signal and control for controlling the position of the nozzle.
