The medical instrument (1) includes manipulation members (14) that are held by a user, elastic members (11) that are respectively secured on one end of the manipulation members, and intersect each other at one end thereof, and opening-closing members (15) that are respectively secured on the other end of the manipulation members (14), and intersect each other at a pivot (13), functional parts (15a) for implementing a gripping operation, a holding operation, a cutting operation, or the like being respectively provided at one end of the opening-closing members (15), the functional parts (15a) being opened and closed by adjusting a pressing force applied to the manipulation members (14), the opening-closing members (15), the manipulation members (14), and the elastic members (11) being configured so that the pressing force applied to the manipulation members (14) and an opening-closing amount of the functional parts (15a) have a linear proportional relationship during a period in which the functional parts (15a) are operated.

The apparatus includes two body members having proximal ends and distal ends with jaw members located adjacent the body member's distal ends. The body members are joined at a pivot located adjacent to the first and second jaw members joining the first and second body members where the body members' rotation about the pivot defines a plane of rotation. The scissors are adapted for selective application of energy to at least one jaw member by a switch located in the plane of rotation.

摘要: A surgical tissue bag (7) for use in the removal of tissue from a surgical site comprises an elongate handle (8) having a proximal portion (15) and a distal portion (14), and a pouch (9) disposed at the end of the handle. The pouch (9) comprises a flexible ring (10) and a bag portion (11) depending from the ring and forming an enclosure to contain tissue and other fluid material. The handle (8) includes an offset portion (13) such that the distal portion (14) is offset from the proximal portion (15) by a discrete amount. The proximal portion of the handle forms a longitudinal axis, and the ring (10) forms a plane at an angle to the longitudinal axis. The bag portion (11) is shaped such that it defines a bag longitudinal axis, the bag longitudinal axis being non-orthogonal to the plane of the ring (10).

摘要: An apparatus comprises a body, a shaft, and an end effector that is operable to compress, staple, and cut tissue. The end effector comprises and anvil and a cartridge. A longitudinal axis intersects the distal tip of the anvil when the anvil is in a closed position. The cartridge defines a sight line extending along a distal surface of the cartridge from a first side of the cartridge toward the anvil. The first side of the cartridge is opposite to the anvil. The distal surface of the cartridge is neither parallel to nor perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The sight line intersects the longitudinal axis near the distal tip when the anvil is in the closed position. A segment of the sight line and a segment the longitudinal axis define an angle θ. The angle θ is larger than 90°.

摘要: A surgical instrument adapted and configured for use in minimally invasive surgical procedures includes a shaft, an end effector and a proximal handle. The longitudinal shaft has proximal and distal end portions, and defines a longitudinal axis of the surgical instrument. The distal end effector is connected to the distal end portion of the shaft, and is adapted and configured for performing a surgical task. The proximal handle portion is operably connected to the proximal end portion of the longitudinal shaft and has an actuatable portion operably connected to the end effector to result in movement of the end effector. The distal end portion of the shaft can be laterally offset from the longitudinal axis of the shaft and/or have one or more bends or curves formed therein. The proximal portion of the shaft can include at least one bend to allow for comfortable positioning of a surgeon's hands.

摘要: A surgical clip applier is provided including a housing; at least one handle pivotably connected to the housing; a channel assembly extending distally from the housing; a jaw assembly including a pair of jaws extending from an end of the channel assembly, opposite the housing, the jaw assembly adapted to accommodate a clip of a plurality of clips loaded in the clip applier and being operable to effect formation of the clip in response to movement of the at least one handle; and a dissector bar supported on the housing and the channel assembly, wherein the dissector bar is actuatable from the housing and includes a proximal position wherein a distal end of the dissector bar is disposed proximal of a distal-most end of the jaw assembly, and at least one distal position wherein the distal end of the dissector bar projects beyond the distal-most end of the jaw assembly.
