    摘要: The aim of the invention is to reduce the amount of space and the technical effort required to feed the front end of a wire coil into a wire drawing installation. To achieve this, the arm of the device is formed from a base section and an end section, whereby the end of the base section can pivot around a first pivotal axis and is connected to the base of a rotationally mounted holder and the pivotal axis of the base section runs perpendicular to the axis of rotation of said holder. One end of the end section can pivot around a second pivotal axis and is connected to the other end of the base section. The first and second pivotal axes run parallel to each other. The free end of the end section of the arm supports a head unit that is rotationally mounted around two axes that are located in a normal position to each other. A hook-shaped gripping element and a clamping device which dresses the front end of the wire coil are arranged on said head unit. Control units for swinging or rotating the holder, arm sections and head unit are provided.

    摘要: Apparatus and a process for the high-speed coiling of an aluminum strip. The high speed coiling can be accomplished throughout a continuous casting process without slowing the coiling as the present invention enables the transfer of the moving strip from one coil to an empty mandrel without slowing the line speed. Since line speeds can be approximately 3600 feet per minute, this represents an advance in process technology. Generally, the transfer of the moving strip is accomplished using a very high speed knife, and a belt wrapper. The moving strip is accumulated on one mandrel to form a coil, the coil is moved away from the knife and a second mandrel is brought into position. The knife is positioned at the moving aluminum strip and accelerated to cut the strip and deflect it to a tucking roll with a moving belt. The moving strip is forced around the second mandrel and starts to wind to form a coil. The completed coil is removed and the process is repeated.

    摘要: In a coiler arrangement having a housing and a mandrel penetrating the housing, rolling stock to be wound on and off the mandrel is conveyable from a roller table guiding the rolling stock through an opening of the housing to the mandrel by a pivot flap extending from the roller table to the vicinity of the mandrel and movable by a pivot drive. In order to be able to close the opening of the housing almost entirely during the coiling procedure, the pivot mounting of the pivot flap is realized on the periphery of the housing at a distance from the roller table, i.e., at a distance from the roller way formed by the table rollers. The pivot flap, with its free end, is pivotable into the roller way and, vice versa, is pivotable away from the roller way by closing the housing. At least one flap part is provided to extend the pivot flap in the direction opposite to its free end. The end of the flap part facing away from the pivot axis is pivotable from the region of the mandrel to the housing and vice versa.

    摘要: A rolling mill for strip and foil material, comprises a roll stand and a coiler for rolled material downstream of the roll stand. An endless belt is trained about the material on the coiler, and an air cushion conveyor is provided for introducing the material between the coiler and the endless belt. The air cushion conveyor and the endless belt are both mounted on the same frame, which frame is mounted for swinging movement between an operative position in which the air cushion conveyor is disposed adjacent the path of the material and the endless belt is trained about the material on the coiler, on the one hand, and on the other hand an inoperative position in which the frame is swung away from the material and the coiler. The pivotal axis about which the frame swings is adjacent that end of the air cushion conveyor which is remote from the endless belt. That axis is disposed beneath the material as the material passes from the roll stand to the coiler. The operative position of the frame is a raised position and the inoperative position of the frame is a lowered position.
