Abstract:
The method and system enable secure forwarding of a message from a first computer to a second computer via an intermediate computer in a telecommunication network. A message is formed in the first computer or in a computer that is served by the first computer, and in the latter case, sending the message to the first computer. In the first computer, a secure message is then formed by giving the message a unique identity and a destination address. The message is sent from the first computer to the intermediate computer after which the destination address and the unique identity are used to find an address to the second computer. The current destination address is substituted with the found address to the second computer, and the unique identity is substituted with another unique identity. Then the message is forwarded to the second computer.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a computer and telecommunication network which can receive, send and manage information from or to a subscriber of the network, based on the subscriber's configuration. The network is made up of at least one cluster containing voice servers which allow for telephony, speech recognition, text-to-speech and conferencing functions, and is accessible by the subscriber through standard telephone connections or through internet connections. The network also utilizes a database and file server allowing the subscriber to maintain and manage certain contact lists and administrative information. A web server is also connected to the cluster thereby allowing access to all functions through internet connections.
Abstract:
A determination is made whether to forward a request for communication services associated with a specific number range from a physical telephone number mapping service server to a virtual telephone number mapping service server. Responsive to determining to forward the request, a determination is made whether a virtual telephone number mapping service instance has been provisioned to handle requests associated with the specific number range.
Abstract:
Embodiments of methods and systems for direct routing of communication sessions for mobile IP communication end points are presented. The methods may be implemented in a service provider network. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, on a first service provider network, a request for access to a target communication device, the target communication device being associated with a second service provider network. The method may also include receiving an indicator, from the second service provider network, that the target communication device is roaming on a third service provider network. Additionally, the method may include establishing a peer-to-peer communication link with the target communication device on the third service provider network by a direct peer-to-peer interconnection process.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses to initiate callback with confirmation. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving a reference (e.g., a callback phone number) in a request for a connection to a destination; providing a code via the reference in response to the request; receiving a code to confirm the request; determining whether the received code matches the provided code; and initiating a connection via the reference for the connection to the destination if the received code matches the provided code.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a code-based device access method and a user device for a code-based device access. A PN code is generated by combining a general subscription phone number and/or a particular number based on a conventional phone number system with a special number existing in a dial pad. An exemplary system for the code-based device access method and the user device for the code-based device access may include a PN code server including a communication server, a registration server or a notification server, a network, a mobile device, and a site server. The mobile device may include an application which provides a PN code service, and the application may include a module which can communicate with the PN code server, another mobile device and/or the site server through the network.
Abstract:
Social websites, such as dating websites, are provided with advanced features. For example, a dynamic telephone number generator is provided that may be associated to a destination telephone number. Someone calling that dynamic telephone number may be routed to the destination number. The dynamic number may be generated as a result of receiving user input to a dating website. Additionally, a dynamic number may call a user's web browser directly such that users can utilize traditional telephone lines to talk over the internet to a website.
Abstract:
A distributed method of delivering events to agent devices. A first software module generates an event, e.g., a screen pop event or a ringing event, for delivery to a second module responsible for an agent device. A third module, which may be the same module as the first module, evaluates a hash function to determine an identifier for the second module from an identifier for the agent device. The first module delivers the event to the second module, which responds to the event, e.g., by causing an agent device to generate a ringing alert or to display a screen pop.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for completing a circuit switched service call in an Internet Protocol network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a session request and queries an tElephone NUmbering Mapping server for a called party, and determines if at least one Naming Authority Pointer resource record associated with the called party is received from the ENUM server. The method determines if a Session Initiation Protocol Universal Resource Identifier is returned, if the at least one NAPTR resource record associated with the called party is received, and processing the session request using the SIP URI, if the SIP URI is returned. The method determines if the processing of the session request using the SIP URI resulted in a successful call completion and processes the session request using a telephone URI, if the processing of the session request using the SIP URI resulted in an unsuccessful call completion.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided for receiving a voice message, selecting from multiple destinations, transmitting the voice message to a destination and subsequently playing back the voice message after it has been received by the destination. The system has a plurality of access devices which may be coupled to each other over a network such as the Internet. These access devices may include computers, workstations, and the like. Access devices may include a voice decoding device for converting a voice message received over a network into a voice signal for playback to a telephone device and may include a voice encoding device for converting a voice signal received into a voice message.
