    摘要: A multilayer sealant film for use in the medical field at least comprises as its innermost layer a first layer comprising at least one resin selected from the group consisting of linear low-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, polypropylene and polybutene-1, and a third layer comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and laminated to the outer side of the first layer with a second layer serving as an adhesive layer and comprising a resin containing, as a main component, at least one of an amorphous polyolefin, adherent polyolefin and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer forming the third layer functions as a barrier for preventing contaminants from migrating from outside of the third layer toward the first layer (innermost layer). Further, it is possible to improve the formability of the multilayer film since the difference in density between the resin for forming the first layer and the resin for forming the second layer is set to be 0.02 g/cm3 or less.

    摘要: A method and system for producing hollow rib structures for trim components and panels using gas assisted injection molding. Movable insert members are provided in the mold cavity, particularly at the ends of the structural rib members. After the plastic material is injected into the mold cavity, the plastic is packed in the mold, and the insert members are locked in position. Selectively activatable locking mechanisms are used to lock up the insert members. Thereafter, gas or another fluid is introduced into the rib members in order to provide hollow channels therein. Movement of the insert members provides a recess or groove for placement of the displaced resin from the rib members. The displaced resin material completes the formation of the molded plastic article.

    摘要: A method of producing an improved insulated container stock, such as a cup is disclosed comprising the steps of providing a sheet of polymeric foam having a first surface and second surface; providing a paper sheet suitable for cup stock; extruding a molten polyethylene polymer or copolymer into a molten sheet of film directed between the paper sheet and a first surface of the foam sheet to form a three layer laminate of foam, film, and paper; directing the three layer laminate into a nip having a preset gap; pressing the layers of the three layer laminate entering the nip into adherent contact as the molten film solidifies to form a laminate of substantially uniform caliper exiting the nip; extruding a molten polymer, preferably a heat shrinkable polymer, as a fourth layer forming a molten sheet of film directed onto a second surface of the foam of the three layer laminate to form a four layer laminate of polyethylene film, foam, polyethylene film and paper; directing the four layer laminate into an additional nip having a preset gap; pressing the layers of the four layer laminate entering the nip into adherent contact as the molten polymer, preferably heat shrinkable polymer, solidifies; forming the four layer laminate into a container wall for surrounding an interior space, adding a bottom portion to form a cup, and optionally heat treating the formed cup to shrink the fourth layer of the four layer laminate.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a side curtain typed air bag in order to prevent passengers from being injured by a side glass window or structure of a vehicle in the event of a rollover or rolling of the vehicle. The side curtain typed air bag of the present invention is characterized in that the upper and lower portions of air bag consisting of thermoplastic multi-filaments are combined by sewing, and a rubber component is coated or an adhesive film is laminated on upper portions and/or lower portions of air bag including sewing portion, an air leak amount per unit length of the sewing portion (measured at pressure of 2.5 KPa) is less than 0.8L/min. cm. The air bag of the present invention can safely protect passengers in the event of a rollover of the vehicle by suppressing the air leak.

    摘要: A low temperature method for forming a microcavity on a substrate and article having same are provided which utilize electroplated films. The method is particularly useful to package microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) in vacuum on the wafer level and provide sealed feedthroughs to the outside world. The method may be performed in a batch process to substantially reduce cost and to form metal diaphragms. Furthermore, the method is performed at near room temperature, which provides more flexibility in the manufacturing process. The method enables substantial cost savings in the production of vacuum-sealed MEMS. Many feedthroughs can be incorporated into the package to transfer signals in and out of the package. One significant advantage of this method is that it does not require bonding of a second substrate, which reduces the system cost.
