Processes for producing carbon fiber, the filament thereof and pre-oxidized fiber are provided. In one embodiment, the gel spinning of polyacrylonitrile filament is achieved by using small-molecule gelling agent, and the carbon fiber obtained thereby is increased by 15% to 40% in tensile strength and by 20% to 35% in toughness. In another embodiment, the melt spinning process of polyacrylonitrile is conducted by using imidazole type ion liquid as plasticizer, the process reduces environment pollution, is suitable for industrial production and the fiber produced thereby is improved in its strength. In yet another embodiment, polyacrylonitrile pre-oxidized fiber is produced by melt spinning, so low cost and controllable pre-oxidization of polyacrylonitrile can be achieved. In a further embodiment, high strength carbon fiber is manufactured by using polymer thickening agent. In another further embodiment, low cost and controllable pre-oxidization of polyacrylonitrile is achieved by conducting pre-oxidization before spinning, minimizing skin-core structure, so as to produce high performance carbon fiber, and reduce the production cost of carbon fiber greatly.

A method comprises: dissolving an aromatic side chain polymer in a terpene, terpenoid, or aromatic solvent; dissolving an inorganic salt in a polar organic solvent; mixing the salt solution and the polymer solution; and using a predominantly terpene, terpenoid, or aromatic solvent phase of the mixture as electrospinning fluid. The fluid is electrospun from spinning tip(s) onto a target substrate. The inorganic salt and the polar organic solvent are chosen so as not to cause substantial precipitation of the polymer upon mixing with the polymer solution. The terpene, terpenoid, or aromatic solvent can comprises D-limonene, the aromatic side chain polymer can comprise polystyrene, the polar organic solvent can comprise dimethyl formamide, and the inorganic salt can comprise LiCl, AgNO3, CuCl2, or FeCl3. The method can further comprise electrospinning the fluid with the fluid and spinning tips electrically isolated from a voltage source that drives the electrospinning.

Besides being used as the warming layer, the non-powered energy layer can also be applied as inner layers of a mattress or a U-shaped neck bolster. Moreover, through the proof of experiment results, this non-powered energy layer would not over excite human skin when it is in long-term use, and the non-powered energy layer would not bring about allergies, itchiness or swelling in human skin.

A method of producing nonwoven textile by a spunmelt process of a polymer, the basis of which is at least one polyolefin, comprising a barrier and antistatic treatment, especially for protective garments for industry and health care. A polyolefin polymer which is suitable for forming fibers is mixed with a first additive capable of modifying a surface property and capable of migration through the polymer, then the mixture is used for producing at least one layer of the nonwoven textile by a spun-melt process, and prior to the termination of the migration of the first additive and to the stabilizing of the final barrier properties on the surface of the fibers a second additive is applied to the layer, the second additive being capable of modifying the antistatic property of the material, and then the nonwoven textile is exposed to a temperature and relative humidity conditions for a time period such that the first additive migrates towards the surface and the second additive undergoes changes on said surface.
