摘要: A method of generating multifunctional mycelium products (thread, foam, films, gels and liquids) derived from biodegraded waste and fungi includes inoculating a carbon-containing substrate with fungi; growing the fungi to form a mature mycelium; separating the mycelium from the carbon-containing substrate; and drying the mature mycelium. The mycelium is either injected into a mold and expanded, fermented to produce a liquid, or blended with water and gelling agents to form a hydrogel. The products sequester carbon and inherently combat pathogens, notably MRSA. Further augmented with synthetic enzyme substrates, the products offer bacterial detection. A standout feature is their capacity to hold and release therapeutic agents, diversifying their use from sustainable textiles to skincare, wound healing, and precise drug delivery.

摘要: A dyeing and welding process may be configured to convert a substrate into a welded substrate having at least some color imparted thereto via a dye and/or coloring agent by applying a process solvent having a dye and/or coloring agent therein to the substrate, wherein the process solvent interrupts one or more intermolecular force between one or more component in the substrate. The substrate may be configured as a natural fiber, such as cellulose, hemicelluloses, and silk. The process solvent may include a binder, such as dissolved biopolymer (e.g., cellulose). After application of a process solvent comprised of a dye and/or coloring agent, the substrate may be exposed to a second application of a process solvent comprised of a binder, which second application may occur before or after a process temperature/pressure zone, process solvent recovery zone, and/or drying zone.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method for the production of precursor fiber for the production of carbon fiber, comprising the steps: a) a) forming a spinning dope comprising a dissolving pulp, a lignin and an alkali metal hydroxide dissolved in water (s201); 5 b) extruding the spinning dope through a spinning nozzle to provide a fibrous extrudate (s203); and c) passing the fibrous extrudate through a coagulation liquid to provide the precursor fiber (s205); wherein the coagulation liquid is arranged to effect precipitation of the precursor fiber by regulation of pH and/or ionicity. The disclosure further relates to precursor fibers and carbon fibers produced by the method above, as well as spinning dopes used in the method.

摘要: A textile recycling method receives textile-waste-to-be-recycled, sorts the waste to isolate cellulose-containing articles from non-cellulose-containing articles, and re-sizes at least some of the cellulose-containing articles to create feedstock. The feedstock is processed in a cellulose solvent reactor, which has at least one ionic liquid. The ionic liquid dissolves intermolecular cellulose bonds of the feedstock to create a spinning dope. Cellulose fibers dissolved in the cellulose-bearing spinning dope solution are extruded in a cellulose coagulation bath reservoir to reconstitute at least some of the cellulose fibers, and the reconstituted fibers are wet-spun to form a continuous cellulose thread that is commercially indistinguishable from virgin fiber thread. Synthetic fiber material is vacuum-extracted or mechanically extracted from the cellulose-bearing solution and recycled into a continuous synthetic thread. Original color of textile-waste-to-be-recycled can be retained or removed, and new color can be added.
