Abstract: A vehicle door assembly includes a vehicle body structure, a first door, a second door and a support assembly. The vehicle body structure has a wall portion that defines a door opening. The support assembly is fixed to the wall portion proximate the door opening and has at least one pair of tracks with door support devices and a motorized door mechanism. The door support devices independently support the first door and the second door for movement along the at least one pair of tracks and the motorized door mechanism is configured to raise and lower the door support devices along with the first door and the second door from respective closed orientations covering corresponding sections of the door opening and open orientations exposing the corresponding sections of the door opening.

Abstract: Autonomous vehicle operations use learned constraints over beliefs to traverse a vehicle transportation network. Sensor data and user demonstration data are used to determine a belief path using a partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP) model. The belief path can be updated based on the learned constraints. Candidate actions are determined based on the POMDP model. The candidate actions are constrained by the updated belief path. An action is selected, and the vehicle traverses the vehicle network using the selected action.

Abstract: An end effector is disclosed that is configured for connection to a robotic unit used to manipulate a door of a vehicle (e.g., during vehicle painting). The piston is operatively connected to an interrupter such that movement (displacement) of the piston causes corresponding movement (displacement) of the interrupter between a first position, in which the interrupter is positioned in alignment with a signal transmitted across the sensor to interfere with the signal and thereby interrupt circuit completion, and a second position, in which the interrupter is out of alignment with the signal transmitted across the sensor to permit circuit completion and thereby inform the robotic unit that the door is present and engaged with the end effector.

Abstract: Vehicle control using map-based braking includes receiving, while a driver is operating the vehicle to traverse a vehicle transportation network, vehicle operation information including at least a current speed of the vehicle, retrieving, from a planned path of an in-vehicle navigation system, an upcoming turn in a current road when the driver is using the in-vehicle navigation system, and retrieving from map data, the upcoming turn in the current road when the driver is not using tin-vehicle navigation system. Thereafter, it is determined whether, during the upcoming turn, wheels of the vehicle will maintain contact with a road surface at the current speed. A braking instruction is issued to a control system of the vehicle responsive to whether the wheels of the vehicle will maintain contact with the road surface at the current speed.
