摘要: Self-supporting or supported porous carbon films, including nanoporous carbon films, are provided. The porous carbon films comprise an open network of interconnected pores. Methods for making porous carbon films are also provided. One synthesis method includes formation of a synthesis mixture comprising particles of an inorganic material, a carbon precursor material and water, forming a layer of the synthesis mixture on a substrate and heat treating the film to convert the carbon precursor to carbon.

摘要: Novel mixed-conducting perovskite oxides, including La0.3Ca0.7Fe0.7Cr0.3O3-δ, useful as oxygen and fuel electrodes for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and reversible solid oxide fuel cells (RSOFCs) applications. Electrode materials produce by microwave-assisted processes show improved properties as electroactive materials. SOFC and RSOFC are successfully prepared using microwave-assisted techniques.

摘要: This disclosure pertains to stimulation and monitoring devices for in utero cognitive stimulation of and interaction with developing fetuses by synthesizing sounds and sound patterns derived from movements of the fetuses' bodies and appendages. The exemplary stimulation and monitoring devices comprise arrays of sensors positionable above and/or the sides of the womb for detecting and recording movements of the fetus's body and appendages, one or more speakers, a microprocessor, controls, and optionally one or more light-emitting components. The collected movement data may be processed by a synthesizer for production of sound patterns and light patterns that are correlated with the movement data. The sound patterns and light patterns produced by the synthesizer may be transmitted through the speakers and the light-emitting components toward and into the womb to provide the development fetus with immediate cognitive stimulation in response to the movements of their body and appendages.

In an embodiment, a method includes storing a predetermined set of personnel tests in a database. The method may also include determining a correlation indicator, the correlation indicator defining a strength of correlation between an aspect of at least one of the personnel tests and a measure of job performance, wherein the correlation indicator is determined in response to validation information provided by one or more subject matter experts. Additionally, such a method may include automatically building a custom personnel evaluation in response to the correlation indicator.

摘要: Methods, systems and apparatuses for enhanced Microelectromechanical (MEMS)-based navigation in a mobile device are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving navigation data from one or more navigation sensors on board the mobile device. The method may also include calculating, using a processing device, position, velocity, and attitude (PVA) values in response to the navigation data using an Inertial Navigation System (INS) mechanization. Additionally, the method may include calculating, using the processing device, Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) values in response to the navigation data. Also, the method may include determining, using the processing device, one or more navigation values in response to a combination of the PVA values calculated by the INS mechanization and the PDR values.

摘要: A system and a method for producing biomass from a mixed community of algal species. The method comprises the steps of culturing the mixed community of at least two algal species as biofilms on transparent surfaces having structural features and an optical filter, providing a continuous supply of a culture medium comprising at least 0.5 mol/L aqueous (bi)carbonate and having a pH greater than 9. The method disclosed herein facilitates online monitoring of mixed community productivity by the quantification of oxygen production.
