摘要: Disclosed is a third stage separator which includes two main clean gas outlets. One main clean gas outlet communicates with a power recovery unit such as an expander turbine while the second main clean gas outlet communicates with a conduit that bypasses the expander turbine. The present invention avoids use of the extra equipment, engineering and installation labor required to prevent the bypass conduit from placing a force load on the line to the power recovery unit.

摘要: Microspheres are prepared by a process comprising (i) spray-drying a solution or dispersion of a wall-forming material in order to obtain intermediate microspheres and (ii) reducing the water-solubility of at least the outside of the intermediate microspheres. Suitable wall-forming materials include proteins such as albumin and gelatin. The microspheres have walls of 40-500 nm thick and are useful in ultrasonic imaging. The control of size, size distribution and degree of insolubilisation and cross-linking of the wall-forming material allows novel microsphere preparations to be produced. In particular, the microspheres may be 15-20 μm, targeted to selected areas of the body or of prolonged life in the circulation.

摘要: A microwave-absorbing material which can be dispensed from standard form-in-place dispensing equipment combines a liquid resin system with a magnetic or lossy dielectric filler. In a preferred embodiment, the liquid resin system is a silicone resin system and the magnetic filler is iron carbonyl powder. The microwave-absorbing material is dispensed into a housing for electronic equipment. It may be dispensed into a cavity in the housing where it self-levels and cures. Alternatively, it may be dispensed onto a surface in the housing where, because of its thixotropic properties, it holds its shape and forms a pad of cured microwave-absorbing material thereon.

摘要: A non-lethal nose cone adapted for the delivery of non-lethal munitions with a projectile weapon. The non-lethal nose cone is manufactured of materials, such as polymers and ceramics, selected for traits including high strength and uniformity when exposed to typical projectile firing conditions as well as an ability to avoid becoming lethal shrapnel upon detonation of an internal charge for disbursing the non-lethal submunitions through pre-scored grooves on the nose cone. Generally, the non-lethal nose cone is intended for use with a projectile having an integral kinetic energy reduction system that may serve the dual role of assisting with submunition ejection through the pre-scored grooves as well as reducing the fall rate of the projectile to non-lethal velocities. Generally, the non-lethal nose cone is adapted for use with standoff delivery systems such as mortar rounds, air delivery systems and artillery.
