    摘要: A method of forming brush seal segments includes mounting a pair of full form plates having opposite arcuate edges in back-to-back relation and wrapping wire about the form plates in multiple passes to form wire runs at angles, e.g., 35-45° relative to radii of the arcuate edges. Half form plates are assembled to opposite sides of the full form plates adjacent one edge of the subassembly. The wire wrap adjacent the one edge of the full form plates is removed. Welds are applied between each adjacent half and full form plates. The inner edges of the wrapped wire and inner frame members of the full form plates are removed. The assembly is then separated to form a pair of arcuate brush seal segments.

    摘要: This invention describes new LEDs having light extraction structures on or within the LED to increase its efficiency. The new light extraction structures provide surfaces for reflecting, refracting or scattering light into directions that are more favorable for the light to escape into the package. The structures can be arrays of light extraction elements or disperser layers. The light extraction elements can have many different shapes and are placed in many locations to increase the efficiency of the LED over conventional LEDs. The disperser layers provide scattering centers for light and can be placed in many locations as well. The new LEDs with arrays of light extraction elements are fabricated with standard processing techniques making them highly manufacturable at costs similar to standard LEDs. The new LEDs with disperser layers are manufactured using new methods and are also highly manufacturable.

    摘要: Methods and systems for a light source assembly for coupling to a photonically enabled complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) chip are disclosed. The light source assembly may comprise a laser, a microlens, a turning mirror, and an optical bench, and may generate an optical signal utilizing the laser, focus the optical signal utilizing the microlens, and reflect the optical signal at an angle defined by the turning mirror. The reflected optical signal may be transmitted out of the assembly to grating couplers in the photonically enabled CMOS chip. The assembly may comprise a non-reciprocal polarization rotator, comprising a latching faraday rotator. The assembly may comprise a reciprocal polarization rotator, which may comprise a half-wave plate comprising birefringent materials operably coupled to the optical bench. The turning mirror may be integrated in the optical bench and may reflect the optical signal to transmit through a lid operably coupled to the optical bench.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing recombined erythropoietin having a particularly high degree of purity (≧98%). The method consists of at least 5 chromatographic purification steps, i.e. at least two anion exchange chromatographs, at least one hydrophobic interaction chromatography, at least one affinity chromatography and at least one hydroxyapatite chromatography. In preferred embodiments, the method does not require any exclusion chromatography and any reversed-phase chromatography. The invention relates to, in particular, a method wherein the following chromatographic purification steps have the following order; i) a first anion exchange chromatography, ii) an affinity chromatography, which relates, preferably, to a dye affinity chromatography, iii) a hydrophobic interaction chromatography, iv) an hydroxyapatite chromatography and v) a second anion exchange chromatography.
