An improved catalyst composition is disclosed for converting synthesis gas to hydrocarbon mixtures. The catalyst comprises an iron-containing, Fischer-Tropsch catalyst and a crystalline zeolite having a silica-to-alumina ratio of greater than 200 (including zeolites containing essentially no alumina) and an (R.sub.2 O+M.sub.2 /.sub.n O):SiO.sub.2 rate of less than 1.1:1 where M is a metal other than a metal of Group IIIA, n is the valence of said metal, and R is an alkyl ammonium radical, said organosilicate being characterized by a specified X-ray diffraction pattern.

Straight-chain hydrocarbons and slightly branched chain hydrocarbons are selectively converted utilizing highly siliceous porous crystalline materials of the zeolite type having SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 ratio of greater than 200, unique molecular sieving properties and superior resistance to ammonia deactivation. The catalyst preferably contains acidic cations and can also contain a component having a hydrogenation/dehydrogenation function. The process of this invention is particularly useful for the dewaxing of hydrocarbon oils, including removal of high freezing point paraffins from jet fuel to lower freezing point, as well as improving the octane rating of naphtha fractions.

The instant disclosure shows improvements in total gasoline production from such process by inclusion of natural gas liquid or other light hydrocarbons having low octane numbers, preferably paraffinic, in the feed to said process thereby converting at least a portion of these lighter materials as well to high octane gasoline boiling range components.

A hydrous aluminosilicate adsorbent composition in which the active adsorbent is a mixture of non-fibrous clay with non-fibrous zeolite. The composition is useful as a feed supplement in animal husbandry, and as a topical adsorbent for veterinary use. The mixture has a high capacity for adsorption of ammonium cations, and a synergistically high selectivity for their adsorption. Beneficial effects as feed supplement may arise from lowering the amount of ammonia passed to the liver from the alimentary canal.

The fraction may be produced from slack wax or de-oiled wax by hydroisomerization over zeolite beta or hydrocracking/isomerization over an amorphous catalyst followed by selective dewaxing, preferably by catalytic dewaxing over a highly shape selective zeolite such as ZSM-23. The preferred peroxides are ditertiary alkyl peroxides such as ditertiary butyl peroxide (DTBP) and are typically used at temperatures of 100.degree.-300.degree. C.
