Abstract: A display device comprises counter electrodes configured to be used as common electrodes for displaying and scan electrodes for touch sensing, a first scan circuit which scans gate lines, and a second scan circuit which scans the counter electrodes. In the display device, one frame period includes a write period for continuously scanning one screen and a touch sensing period existing between the write period and a write period in the next frame. The second scan circuit includes a shift register unit and a switch unit. The switch unit includes a seventh thin-film transistor which outputs a DC drive signal to an output node and an eighth thin-film transistor which outputs an AC drive signal to the output node. A second control signal for fixing the voltage of a third retention node to which the gate electrode of the seventh thin-film transistor is connected is inputted in the write period.

Abstract: In an IPS-mode liquid crystal display device, the area of a terminal portion is decreased. A liquid crystal display device includes a TFT substrate and a counter substrate attached to the TFT substrate with a sealing material, and includes a display region and a terminal portion formed on the TFT substrate. A shielding transparent conductive film is formed on the outer side of the counter substrate. On the terminal portion, an earth pad formed with a transparent conductive film is formed on an organic passivation film. The shielding transparent conductive film is connected to the earth pad through a conductor. Below organic passivation film of the terminal portion, a wire is formed.

Abstract: A driving circuit of a display device includes first to third output signal lines which are continuously arranged, a first transistor that has a source connected to the second output signal line and a drain connected to a first clock signal line, and a second transistor that provides a non-active potential to a gate of the first transistor when a second clock signal becomes the active potential, wherein a circuit that outputs the active potential to the first output signal line and the third output signal line is disposed at an opposite side to a circuit that outputs the active potential to the second output signal line with a display region interposed therebetween, and wherein the gate of the first transistor is connected to the first output signal line and the third output signal line via rectifying circuits.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device having an outer shape of a display region formed other than a rectangle. A driver for supplying a video signal is disposed outside the display region. A selector with selector TFT is disposed between the display region and the driver. A video signal line is disposed between the driver and the selector, and a drain line is disposed between the selector and the display region. A scanning circuit for supplying a scanning signal to the scanning line is disposed outside the display region. The selector is disposed between the scanning line and the display region, and covered with ITO as the common electrode. The common bus wiring is disposed outside the selector.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device with a touch panel includes: display drive circuits that are disposed respectively at the outsides of the sides opposing to a display region, and that apply sequential scanning signal potentials to scanning signal lines; touch panel drive circuits that are disposed respectively further to the outsides of the display drive circuits, and that apply sequential drive pulses to a plurality or drive electrodes among common electrodes; and switching circuits that are disposed respectively at insides of the display drive circuits, and that switch between applying common electric potentials for controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal composition and applying a touch drive pulse that detects the touching to the display surface.

Abstract: A display device includes pixel electrodes formed in an image display area of a substrate, a common electrode formed in the image display area, inside signal lines formed inside the image display area, and electrically connected to the pixel electrodes, outside signal lines formed outside the image display area, and electrically connected to the inside signal lines, and a common line formed inside and outside the image display area, and electrically connected to the common electrode. An image is displayed under a control of a light using an electric field developed between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode. A coupling capacitance is formed between the inside signal lines and the common electrode. The outside signal lines each include a first portion, and a second portion higher in electric resistance than the first portion and the inside signal lines.

Abstract: A gate signal line driving circuit includes plural basic circuits, each outputting to a gate signal line a gate signal which is high during a high signal period and low during a low signal period. Each of the basic circuits includes: a gate line high voltage application circuit which is turned on in accordance with the high signal period to apply the high voltage to the gate signal line; a gate line low voltage application circuit which is turned on in accordance with the low signal period to apply the low voltage to the gate signal line; and a second gate line low voltage application circuit which is turned on to apply the low voltage to the gate signal line in at least a part of a period between turning off the gate line high voltage application circuit and turning on the gate line low voltage application circuit.

The dummy pixel includes a dummy gate signal line parallel to a gate signal line of the thin film transistor, and a semiconductor layer intersecting with the dummy gate signal line via an insulating layer. Just one conductor layer is connected to the semiconductor layer.

Abstract: An inspection circuit is properly protected in a display device, in which the driver IC is not on the terminal area. A liquid crystal display device includes a TFT substrate including a display area, a terminal area, and a counter substrate overlapping with the display area of the TFT substrate. The display area includes video signal lines. The seal material adheres the counter substrate and the TFT substrate. The display area is formed in an area surrounded by the seal material. The flexible wiring circuit substrate connects to the terminal area. The driver IC supplies video signals to the video signal line. The driver IC is not installed in the terminal area. The inspection circuit is formed between the display area and the terminal area. The inspection circuit overlaps with the counter substrate in a plan view.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device with a sensor includes: a substrate including a display region and a peripheral region on a periphery of the display region; detection electrodes arranged in a row-column configuration in the display region; and detection lines coupled to the respective detection electrodes. A shape of the substrate in a plan view includes a curve of a curved portion. The detection electrodes include a first electrode and a second electrode having a shape different from that of the first electrode in a plan view. The second electrode is juxtaposed with the curved portion. The detection lines each include a first line coupled to the first electrode and a second line coupled to the second electrode. The second line passes from the display region across the peripheral region and extends to a position overlapping with the second electrode in a plan view.
