    摘要: A gas sensor includes a sensor element and a housing having an accommodation hole in which the sensor element is disposed. The housing has at an axial end thereof a cold crimped portion which cooperates with a shoulder portion of the accommodation hole to fixedly hold therebetween the sensor element. The cold crimped portion has an inward flange section, a hollow cylindrical section and a bent section between the inward flange section and the cylindrical section. The cold crimped portion is shaped so as to vary in thickness suddenly at or adjacent the bent section so that the cold crimped portion is assuredly bent at a predetermined position. A method of producing a gas sensor is also provided.

    摘要: To provide a 2-stroke cycle internal combustion engine for a vehicle in which less blowoff of a gas mixture occurs in a combustion chamber, fuel consumption is low and high exhaust gas purifying performance is attained. The cylinder of the internal combustion engine is slightly inclined toward the forward side of the vehicle body from its upright position. The high pressure chamber and the communication passages are arranged forwardly toward the vehicle body from the cylinder. Openings of the communicating passages toward the combustion chamber are arranged, from the scavenging port, near the combustion chamber. The intake control valve rotated from the crank chamber near the openings of the communicating passages toward the combustion chamber is arranged near the openings of the communicating passages, and the exhaust pipe and the exhaust expansion chamber communicating with the exhaust gas passage of the internal combustion engine are arranged at a rear part of the vehicle body from the cylinder.

    摘要: An exhaust passage for connecting to an exhaust port of a cylinder is provided. The exhaust passage includes a first path extending in a direction generally orthogonal to the central axis of the exhaust port. A second path connects the first path and the exhaust poil and a control valve is provided in the first path. The rotational axis of the exhaust control valve is generally parallel to the direction in which the first path extends. The surface area of an opening connecting the first path and the second path is variable as the exhaust control valve rotates, so as to carry out controlled combustion and exhaust timing. This makes it unnecessary to provide a hollow section for housing an exhaust control valve and bearing at a position close to the exhaust. It is also possible to reduce the size of a cylinder block and to realize smooth flow of exhaust gases by making the inner peripheral surface of the exhaust passage smooth.

    摘要: A combustion controller for a two-cycle engine which enables to cause self firing always at the optimum timing is provided. The combustion controller comprises an exhaust control valve 15 provided in the vicinity of an exhaust port 7 of the two-cycle engine 1 and capable of fully closing the exhaust port and driving control means 47, 38, 39, 40 and 37 to drive the exhaust control valve 15 according to a control map giving an exhaust opening ratio .theta..sub.e depending at least on the engine speed and the throttle valve opening ratio .theta..sub.th in order to control the pressure in the cylinder during up-stroke of the piston 8. The exhaust control valve 15 is formed by a thin shell-like member comprising an exhaust control portion 35 substantially along the cylinder curvature in the exhaust port 7 and wider than the whole width of the exhaust port and a swinging arm portion 34 for connecting at least a side of the exhaust control portion and the rotational shaft 33 perpendicular to the cylinder axis and accommodated in a receiving recess formed in the cylinder block. This receiving recess is communicated with the exhaust passage extending from the exhaust port 7 only in the working zone of the exhaust control portion.

    摘要: In an ignition system for internal combustion engines having a magneto generator for charging a capacitor and a thyristor for discharging the capacitor through an ignition coil upon receiving an ignition signal, an auxiliary capacitor and an associated transformer are provided as a source of the ignition signal. The auxiliary capacitor is charged through the transformer by each half-cycle of the magneto generator output of the opposite polarity with respect to the charging half-cycle of the capacitor. The auxiliary capacitor is discharged through the gate-cathode path of the thyristor under control of an auxiliary switching element to which a timing signal generator provides a timing signal at a proper ignition time. Since a short circuiting switching element connected across the auxiliary capacitor has the control electrode connected to receive through a resistor each half-cycle of the magneto generator output following the half-cycle of the magneto generator output during which the auxiliary capacitor is charged, if no timing signal has been applied to the auxiliary switching element the auxiliary capacitor will necessarily be short circuited. When the engine is rotating in the normal direction, the timing signal is only required to be generated during a time period from the completion of charging of the auxiliary capacitor until the short-circuiting switching element is turned on and this allows a sufficient range of advance angle. In the reverse rotation of the engine, the auxiliary capacitor is short circuited before the timing generator generates the timing signal resulting in the termination of the reverse rotation.

    摘要: A crimp contact, a gas sensor including the crimp contact for outputting a signal from a sensing portion of a sensor element to an external device, and a method for manufacturing the crimp contact. The crimp contact includes a barrel portion crimped so as to fix a plurality of lead core wires (16) of an electrical lead connected to the external device. A hold portion constituting the barrel portion is formed such that the lead core wires 16 of the electrical lead are disposed in an U-shaped hold portion 77 so as to be crimped between an anvil 120 and a crimper 121. An outer surface of the U-shaped hold portion 77 has a plating layer 85 thereon to thereby constantly secure slidability between a sliding face of the crimper 121 and the outer surface of the U-shaped hold portion 77. The crimp contact is able to secure slidability between an outer surface of a hold portion and a sliding face of a crimper without applying any lubricant to the sliding face of the crimper, and can be used under a high temperature environment.
