摘要: A catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas includes an upstream side catalyst and a downstream side catalyst. The upstream side catalyst is disposed on an upstream side with respect to an exhaust gas flow, and the downstream side catalyst is disposed on a downstream side with respect thereto. The upstream side catalyst includes a first loading layer, being composed of an alumina containing Ba and La at least, and a first noble metal, being held by the first loading layer and being at least one member selected from the group consisting of Pd, Pd and Rh and Pd and Pt. Alternatively, in addition to the aluminum, the first loading layer can be composed of Ce, a solid solution of Ce and Zr and a solid solution of Ce, Zr and Y in an amount as less as possible. The downstream side catalyst includes a second loading layer, being composed of at least one member selected from the group consisting of an alumina containing La, Ce, a solid solution of Ce and Zr and a solid solution of Ce, Zr and Y, and a second noble metal, being held by the second loading layer and being composed of at least one member selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd and Rh.

摘要: A thermoelectric semiconductor material having sufficient strength and performance and high production yield. The thermoelectric semiconductor material is characterized in that a sintered powder material of a thermoelectric semiconductor having a rhombohedral structure (or hexagonal structure) is hot-forged and plastically deformed to direct either the crystals of the sintered powder structure or the subcrystals constructing the crystals in a crystal orientation having an excellent figure of merit.

摘要: A portable information processing terminal is provided which can display an application execution-enabled time period. A download section 122 stores, in an application storage section 103, an application obtained from an outside. An application management table 500 has registered therein a power consumption, per unit time, for the application stored in the application storage section 103. A power measurement section 110 measures the power consumption per unit time for the application which is being executed. An application status management section 100 manages the application management table 500, and calculates the execution-enabled time period for the application, based on the power consumption for the application per unit time, and a remaining battery power in a battery section 15. A display section 11 displays the execution-enabled time period for the application.

摘要: A video signal detecting circuit includes a synchronization detector for detecting a vertical synchronous signal in an input video signal. A counter starts counting pixel clock pulses in response to every vertical synchronous signal thus detected, and outputs a first signal when the count of pixel clock pulses reaches a preselected value. A comparator compares the vertical synchronous signal detected with the first signal for outputting a second signal representative of a difference between them. A mean circuit produces a mean value of the second signals over a plurality of pictures of the input video signal. An adjusting circuit adjusts the vertical synchronous signal with the mean value to output the resultant adjusted signal as a vertical synchronous signal. The preselected number is substantially equal to the standard number of pixels included in a single picture.
