Abstract:
An improved zeolite having a high number of strong acid sites wherein said zeolite has an AAI of at least 1.0. In a preferred embodiment, such zeolite is produced by controlling conditions after production of the crystalline structure such that loss of tetrahedral aluminum is minimized to thereby provide a zeolite with the above defined AAI.
Abstract:
Oxide comprising at least the elements Si and Ti, at least noncrystalline silicon dioxide and at least one crystalline silicate phase which has at least one zeolite structure, with noncrystalline silicon dioxide being applied to at least one crystalline silicate phase having at least one zeolite structure, wherein the oxide has no silicon-carbon bonds.
Abstract:
A process for the in-situ preparation of a composite comprising a cationic clay and binder/matrix material from sources comprising an aluminum containing source, a silicon containing source and a di-valent metal containing source comprising the steps of: a. preparing a precursor mixture by mixing the aluminum containing source, the silicon containing source and the di-valent metal containing source with seeding material, b. homogenizing the precursor mixture, and c. aging the precursor mixture to obtain the composite. One or two of the aluminum containing source, silicon containing source or di-valent metal containing source is to be in excess of the amount required for stoichiometry of the three sources with respect to the formation of the cationic clay. The excess source or sources will form the binder/matrix material of the composite. The invention also includes a body comprising a composite obtained by this process having binding/matrix material present in a discontinuous phase.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for catalytically reducing nitrogen oxides in an exhaust gas stream containing nitrogen oxides and a reductant material by contacting the gas stream under conditions effective to catalytically reduce the nitrogen oxides with a catalyst comprising a aluminum-silicate type material and a minor amount of a metal, the catalyst characterized as having sufficient catalytic activity so as to reduce the nitrogen oxides by at least 60 percent under temperatures within the range of from about 200° C. to about 400° C.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a catalyst that contains at least one matrix, at least one zeolite and at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element that is located at the matrix (deposited on the catalyst or contained in the matrix), in which the zeolite contains in its porous network at least one element of group VIB and/or group VIII. Said hydro-dehydrogenating element preferably belongs to group VIB and/or to group VIII of the periodic table. The catalyst contains at least one promoter element)phosphorus, boron, silicon). The invention also relates to the use of this catalyst for the transformation of hydrocarbon fractions, in particular hydrorefining and hydrocracking
Abstract:
A process is described for the manufacture of crystalline molecular sieve layers with good para-xylene over meta-xylene selectivity's good para-xylene permeances and selectivities. The process requires impregnation of the support prior to hydrothermal synthesis using the seeded method and may be undertaken with pre-impregnation masking. The crystalline molecular sieve layer has a selectivity (&agr;x) for para-xylene over meta-xylene of 2 or greater and a permeance (Qx) for para-xylene of 3.27×10−8 mole(px)/m2.s.Pa(px) or greater measured at a temperature of ≧250° C. and an aromatic hydrocarbon partial pressure of ≧10×103 Pa.
Abstract:
A catalyst support including a zeolite having an Al/Si atomic ratio of 0.01-0.1 and mesopores having a pore diameter in the range of 5-30 nm, and ultrafine particles composited to inside walls of the mesopores. The superfine particles are those of an oxide of a metal selected from Ti, Zr and Hf. A catalyt having a hydrogenation catalytic metal loaded on the above catalyst support exhibits
Abstract:
Zeolite microsphere FCC catalysts having a novel morphology comprising a macroporous matrix and crystallized zeolite freely coating the walls of the pores of the matrix. The catalysts are formed from microspheres containing a metakaolin and kaolin calcined through its exotherm, the latter calcined kaolin being derived from a kaolin having a high pore volume. Kaolin having a high pore volume can be a pulverized ultrafine kaolin or a kaolin which has been pulverized to have an incipient slurry point less than 57% solids.
Abstract:
An improved porous substrate for zeolite membranes is formed by coating the substrate with a layer of zeolite particles of a narrow particle distribution size of between 20 and 0.01 microns.
Abstract:
Applicant has developed an improved adsorbent useful in removing contaminants from various hydrocarbon streams. The adsorbent contains a zeolite, an alumina and a metal component. The metal component (Madd) is present in an amount at least 10 mole % the stoichiometric amount of metal (M) (expressed as the oxide) needed to balance the negative charge of the zeolite lattice. In a specific application an adsorbent comprising zeolite X, alumina and sodium is used to purify an ethylene stream in order to remove CO2, H2S, methanol, and other S— and O— containing compounds.
