摘要: A massaging sink pillow structure disclosed herein designed to be placed over the edge of a standard sink used by a barber or beautician for shampooing or rinsing hair. The sink pillow is a waterproof, saddle-shaped structure with a front section designed to be placed against the front outside surface of the sink and a rear section designed to be placed against the front, inside surface of the sink. The sink pillow includes an upper, U-shaped indented section designed to fit into the U-shaped opening on the sink. Mounted inside the sink pillow is a neck massaging mechanism designed to massage the user's neck in one direction or in alternative directions from front-to-back and back-to-front directions when the user's neck is placed over the U-shaped indented section. Located inside the sink pillow is a printed circuit board, which is connected to a D.C. motor that rotates the eccentric element against the elongated member.

摘要: A T-connector holding tool is a tool for immobilizing or applying a torque to a T-connector. The tool has an elongated handle portion and a head portion fixed to the handle portion. The head portion includes a pair of rigid claws, each including an interior surface sized to capture a corresponding one of two aligned nuts of the T-connector. When applying a torque to the third nut of a T-connector, the T-connector is immobilized by capturing the aligned first and second nuts and applying a counteracting torque to the T-connector, the counteracting torque being opposite the torque applied to the third nut.

摘要: A novel design and construction method for an inflatable, rigidizable wing for a terrestrial or planetary flying vehicle. The wing is caused to deploy from an initially packed condition and to assume its functional shape by means of an inflation gas. After inflation, the wing is rigidized by any of several means, such that the inflation gas is no longer required. The composite wing is fabricated from a base reinforcement material, often a fabric, which is coated with a polymer resin that hardens when exposed to a curing mechanism. Several activation mechanisms exist by which to initiate rigidization of such a structure, including elevated temperature, ultraviolet light, and chemical constituents of the inflation gas. The resultant wing has fundamental advantages compared to existing inflatable wings, including improved stiffness, and reduced susceptibility to structural failure in response to puncture.

摘要: A counterpulsation device that operates without the use of compressed air or pressurized gas includes at least one inflatable cuff that is adapted to be placed about a selected portion of the patient's body. A conduit connects the inflatable cuff to an air transfer device so that noncompressed air can be transferred from the air transfer device to the cuff through the conduit to inflate the cuff. The conduit also connects the cuff to the air transfer device so that air can flow through the conduit to deflate the cuff. Another conduit is coupled to the first so that the air in the system can be selectively vented into the atmosphere.. A series of valves are placed on the conduit to selectively control whether air is supplied to or withdrawn from the inflatable cuff. The air moving device preferably is a cylinder having a piston that moves through the cylinder to move the air from within the cylinder through the conduit and into or out of the cuff as desired. The piston moves through the cylinder through the use of a linear servo actuator that is controlled by an appropriately programmed electronic controller so that the inflation of the cuff is timed with portions of the patient's EKG signal and peripheral plethysmographic wave.

摘要: A method includes receiving a plurality of metric-pattern combinations, each including a respective performance metric and a respective graph pattern. The method also includes receiving a corresponding parameter value for a parameter of each respective graph pattern. The method further includes determining an event equation comprising the plurality of metric-pattern combinations and a boolean operator. The method still further includes evaluating the event equation by determining a respective graph pattern fit curve by applying the corresponding parameter value to the respective graph pattern, and determining an operand value based on whether associated performance data for the respective performance metric exhibits the associated graph pattern by matching the respective graph pattern fit curve to the associated performance data. Evaluating the operand values using the boolean operator to determine a result. The method additionally includes displaying a notification, at a user interface, based on the result.

摘要: A transport cart includes a cart frame with wheels. A load carrier has bottom and side walls and an end wall structure at a first end, opposite a second end. A pivot axle is arranged between the cart frame and the load carrier so the load carrier pivots about a single axis. An interfering stop structure on the cart frame and the load carrier prevents pivotal movement of the load carrier beyond a predetermined angle. The pivot axle is arranged offset relative to a center of gravity of the load carrier. A force applying device provides a pulling force on the load carrier to pivot the load carrier relative to the cart frame. An arrest mechanism may be provided to arrest pivotal movement of the load carrier in a direction opposite of the pulling force, unless the arrest mechanism is released by a user of the transport cart.

摘要: A hydrokinetic turbine system, including a plurality of hydrokinetic turbines is installed on a bed of a body of water. Each turbine has a shroud with a forward entrance portion and rear exit portion. The shroud includes a propeller disposed in a middle portion thereof. An inner surface of the shroud includes a plurality of rifling vanes formed therein to induce water entering the forward entrance portion to rotate in a vortex-like fashion. A plurality of pre-spin guard blades disposed adjacent the forward entrance portion also induce rotation of water and serve to provide a barrier preventing objects from passing into the forward entrance portion. A plurality of stabilizers extending from an exterior surface of the shroud that position the forward entrance portion in the direction of current flow.
