    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments pertain to combining Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) measurements from partial measurement sessions that result when a single measurement session is interrupted by one or more interruption events including Out of Service (OOS) or Inter-Frequency Handover (IFH) events. In some embodiments, first Time Of Arrival (TOA) measurements of cellular signals during a plurality of discontiguous partial measurement sessions separated by one or more interruption events may be obtained. Second TOA measurements based on a reference time source may be obtained for a plurality of the first TOA measurements from at least two partial measurement sessions. A cell associated with a second TOA measurement may be selected as a reference cell and for each non-reference cell associated with a second TOA measurement, a corresponding RSTD measurement may be obtained relative to the selected reference cell.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for performing positioning measurements at a mobile device during a positioning session with a serving cell. In an aspect, the mobile device determines to trigger a coverage-enhanced (CE) mode before a positioning session timeout for the positioning session expires, continues performance of the positioning measurements during the positioning session with the serving cell while the mobile device remains connected to the serving cell due to the triggered CE mode, determines whether the positioning measurements have been completed or the positioning session timeout has expired, and responsive to the determination that the positioning measurements have been completed or that the positioning session timeout has expired, reports, to a network entity in the wireless communications network, actual handover measurements to enable the network entity to make a handover determination.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for wireless communication are provided. In one example, a mobile device is configured to: obtain beam support information of a plurality of cells; perform measurements of one or more signals at the mobile device based on the beam support information of the plurality of cells to support a location determination operation for the mobile device; and transmit results of the measurements of the one or more signals to at least one of a location server or to a base station to support the location determination operation. The beam support information may include: a number of beams supported at each cell of the plurality of cells, information to identify each beam of the number of beams supported at the each cell, beam width information of the each beam, and/or Positioning reference Signals (PRS) codebook information which encapsulates the beams which are enabled along various elevation and azimuth angles.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) communicating with a first base station via a first radio bearer and a second bases station via a second radio bearer is disclosed. Uplink data transmissions using the radio bearers may be controlled by a threshold. During a positioning session to locate the UE, the UE may modify the threshold to cause the UE to use both the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer.     Abstract: Techniques are provided to initiate signal transmissions for possible opportunistic reception by a mobile device, and/or to initiate opportunistic reception of signal transmissions for use in mobile device position location estimation. For example, a mobile device may use assistance data to identify a first signal to be transmitted over a first frequency band and a second signal to be transmitted over a second frequency band during a specific period of time. At least a portion of the second frequency band may be outside of the first frequency band. The mobile device subsequently attempts to opportunistically receive at least the first signal and the second signal via a receiver tuned to a reception frequency band that encompasses at least the first frequency band and the second frequency band. The mobile device may then process the opportunistically received signals to obtain measurements corresponding to at least the first and second signals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may support selection of positioning reference signal (PRS) occasions. For example, a UE may identify a first pair of PRS occasions for monitoring a PRS at a first frequency and a second pair of PRS occasions for monitoring a PRS at a second frequency and occurring after the first pair of PRS occasions. The UE may measure a first PRS of the first pair of PRS occasions at the first frequency, and then measure a first PRS of the second pair of PRS occasions at the second frequency. The UE may then measure a second PRS of the first pair of PRS occasions at the first frequency after measuring the first PRS of the second pair of PRS occasions at the second frequency.
