摘要: A developer bearing member on which grooves slanting in a thrust direction of the developer bearing member cross other grooves reversely slanting relative to the thrust direction, wherein each of the grooves and the reversely slanting grooves is slanting at an angle of greater than 0° and not greater than 40°. Any two adjacent intersections of the grooves and the reversely slanting grooves in the thrust (or peripheral) direction are preferably on different levels in the peripheral (or thrust) direction. The distance between two adjacent intersections in the thrust direction is preferably from 1.3 mm to 4.8 mm. The distance between two adjacent intersections in the thrust direction is preferably from 0.38 Vd/Vi (mm) to 1.1 Vd/Vi (mm). The deviation in depth of grooves present on a 36° arc surface portion of the member is not greater than 15% of the gap between the image bearing member and the developer bearing member.

摘要: To downsize a developing device in the developing carrier axial direction without generating image concentration irregularities from recirculation of developer in the magnetic roller end regions, an N2 pole and an N3 pole, which are mutually adjacent having the same polarity (N polarity), and which are for generating a magnetic force for removing from a developing sleeve a developer that has passed through a developing region, are provided on a magnetic roller. Magnets of this developing device, which are for generating a magnetic field to displace to the inside in the axial direction magnetic force lines that cause peeling force in the direction of separation from the developing sleeve to act on developer on the developing sleeve, based on the magnetic force of the N2 pole and the N3 pole, and that pass through the axial direction end regions within a developer separation region on the developing sleeve, are provided on the outside of the magnetic roller.

摘要: A controller for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) mounted in a vehicle. The controller includes a first setting unit for setting a basic speed ratio of the CVT; a second setting unit for setting an adjustment speed ratio of the CVT; and a control unit for controlling the CVT based on the basic speed ratio and adjustment speed ratio. The second setting unit includes an increasing unit for progressively increasing the adjustment speed ratio according to a increase in a target torque interrelated value in a first operating area, and a decreasing unit for progressively decreasing the adjustment speed ratio according to a decrease in the target torque interrelated value in a second operating area. Between the first operating area and the second operating area, the second setting unit maintains the adjustment speed ratio that is set finally.

摘要: A process for fabricating a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) composed of fixed components fixedly supported on a lower substrate and movable components movably supported on the lower substrate. The process utilizes an upper substrate separate from the lower substrate. The upper substrate is selectively etched in its top layer to form therein a plurality of posts which project commonly from a bottom layer of the upper substrate. The posts include the fixed components to be fixed to the lower substrate and the movable components which are resiliently supported only to one or more of the fixed components to be movable relative to the fixed components. The lower substrate is formed in its top surface with at least one recess. The upper substrate is then bonded to the top of the lower substrate upside down in such a manner as to place the fixed components directly on the lower substrate and to place the movable components upwardly of the recess. Finally, the bottom layer of the upper substrate is removed to release the movable components from the bottom layer for floating the movable components above the recess and allowing them to move relative to the lower substrate, while keeping the fixed components fixed to the top of the lower substrate.

摘要: A cellulose acetate solution is filtrated with a filter medium formed of cellulose fiber. Hydroxyl groups on the filter medium are substituted to other functional groups. An acidic material is added to the cellulose acetate solution, and the filtration is preformed. In order to estimate the hydrogen ion concentration of the organic solvent, a sample solvent of thereof is mixed with water so as to transport hydrogen ions from the sample solvent to the water of a predetermined volume. Then the water is separated from the sample solvent, and the pH value of the water is measured with a pH meter. The result of the measurement is regarded as the pH value of the organic solvent.

摘要: A hybrid electric drive system for a vehicle comprises a combustion engine (1), a transmission (2), a first clutch (3) disposed between the engine (1) and the transmission (2), a rotating electric machine (4) which serves as a motor as well as a generator, a second clutch (30) disposed between the rotating electric machine (4) and the transmission (2), and a storage device (9). 摘要: Dope containing TAC and a solvent is prepared. The dope is cast so as to form three layers from a casting die. A casting film is formed on a cooling drum. The casting film is peeled as a wet film from a cooling drum by a peel roller. The wet film is transported by a pin tenter and a clip tenter. A tenter draw ratio, which is a ratio between feeding speeds of the pin tenter and the clip tenter and a rotating speed of the cooling drum, is set to not less than 110% and not more than 150%. The wet film is dried in the pin tenter and the clip tenter to obtain a film.

摘要: An image forming apparatus in which a visible image is transferred to a transfer material includes a pre-transfer exposing unit that makes only a portion of a latent image carrier that corresponds to a leading edge of the transfer material expose, and a transfer-bias applying unit that applies a bias for transferring the visible image. The transfer-bias applying unit starts applying the bias to the transfer material, at least step-by-step, when a predetermined time is passed from a point of time at which the leading edge of the transfer material comes into a contact with the latent image carrier by controlling the pre-transfer exposing unit and a bias applying timing of the transfer-bias applying unit.
