Abstract:
A plurality of permanent magnets are disposed on a movable object with predetermined spacings between them, and a fixed permanent magnet or magnets are disposed at positions spaced apart by a predetermined distance from the detection portion of a waveguide disposed along the movable object. Magnetostrictive ultrasonic waves generated on the waveguide are detected at the positions of these permanent magnets, and the position of the movable object is detected from the number of ultrasonic wave signals and the propagation time.
Abstract:
A nuclear reactor is supplied with feed water through a feed water pump system. A primary steam flow produced from the reactor is controlled by regulating a recirculated flow of feed water. The feed water pump system comprises two main pumps each of 55%-capacity and two auxiliary pumps each of 27.5%-capacity. Normally, the two main pumps are operated. Upon occurrence of abnormal condition of at least one main pump, the auxiliary pumps are started to supply feed water. At that time, the recirculated flow is controlled for a predetermined time to a reduced rate which is smaller as compared with that of the primary steam flow decreased rapidly due to the shutdown of the main pump. Subsequently, the recirculated flow is so controlled that the primary steam flow rate is slightly smaller as compared with the feed water flow which is determined by the available capacity of the pumps.
Abstract:
A dental hydraulic investment comprising (A) an aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution, (B) a water-soluble metallic compound, (C) a water-soluble, thermosetting resin precondensate and (D) a filler. Use of this investment allows formation of a desired denture by either a thermal polymerization or a room temperature polymerization method, and the denture thus obtained has excellent surface luster and is high in dimensional accuracy.
Abstract:
A two-axis hinge unit is provided with a first rotating shaft that rotates so as to open in the vertical direction from a folded state with a first casing and a second casing overlapping and a second rotating shaft that rotates so as to open in the horizontal direction from a folded state with the first casing and the second casing overlapping, and is provided with a restriction member positioned between the first rotating shaft and the second rotating shaft that, when one of the rotating shafts is in a predetermined rotational position, is pressed by this one rotating shaft and engages with the other rotating shaft, thereby restricting rotation of that other rotating shaft.

Abstract:
A production equipment includes a substrate 2 placed inside and having a plurality of semiconductor elements 3 mounted thereon, and a resin molding mold 20 having a cavity 21. The mold 20 has resin injection ports 29a and air release ports 30a. Each of the resin injection ports 29a is formed in a top surface portion of the cavity in the mold in association with the corresponding semiconductor element 3. Each of the air release ports 30a is formed around each of the resin injection ports 29a.
Abstract:
To provide an objective lens driving device that drives an objective lens for converging light on a recording surface of an optical disk, not only in a focusing and a tracking directions but also in an inclining direction of an optical axis of the objective lens, four support members are fixed to outer edge portions of a lens holder, and positions where the other support members are fixed to at least one of the lens holder and a fixing section are located inside the four support members fixed to the outer edge portions of the lens holder.
Abstract:
A multicontroller apparatus has a plurality of control units each including a controller and a diagnostic device for making a diagnosis of the controller. Each diagnostic device includes an apparatus for judging states of other control units by using output signals of diagnostic devices included in the other control units and an apparatus for executing a diagnosis of the associated controller which is a diagnosis object of the diagnostic device when the judging apparatus has judged that one or more other control units are not in the diagnosis state. Owing to the present invention, a necessary number of controllers which are in the controllable state can always be ensured in a multicontroller apparatus. Therefore, control by the multicontroller apparatus is always possible, and it becomes possible to make a diagnosis upon the multicontroller apparatus.
Abstract:
In a lead frame having a number of square dimples arranged on the rear side of a bed portion in a lattice form of a pitch t, each side of the square dimples is disposed to form a predetermined angle relative to either of X--Y axes of the lattice extending in lateral and longitudinal directions of the bed portion. The square dimples may be provided at entire intersecting points between two sets of lines extending in parallel with the X and Y axes, or every other intersecting points of the same, so that an equal pitch of t or 2t is maintained between the dimples arranged in X and Y directions.
Abstract:
In an information recording medium having a recording layer for recording information by heating through incoming energy, at least one of an interference layer and an absorption layer for the incoming energy is provided on the energy-incoming side of the recording layer to reduce the reflected energy from the information recording medium and increase the quantity of heat input into the recording layer. The temperature of the recording layer is rapidly enhanced, and rapid writing is made possible thereby. Writing or erasing can be made with less incoming energy, and thus the writing sensitivity or erasing sensitivity of the information recording medium can be increased.
