The present invention relates to a flow spreading mechanism, in particular a flow spreading mechanism used with refrigerators or air conditioners to enhance spreading of cool or warm air. To achieve the above-mentioned object, this invention comprises at least one inlet (200) through which fluid flow comes in; a flow separator means (110) dividing the flow coming through the at least one inlet (200) into at least two separate flows; and an outlet (300) through which at least two of the at least, two flows having been divided into separate flows by the flow separator means go out after they meet again, thereby forming complex vortices near the outlet, which make the flow going out of the outlet swing. Flow spreading mechanism of the present invention provides a better uniformity of temperature distribution for refrigerators or air conditioners, compared with the simple-ducted outlet of the prior art.

Disclosed is a suction muffler for a compressor, which effectively separates liquid components and oil components from a refrigerant, thereby reducing noise generated due to the suction of the refrigerant by the compressor and improving the performance of the compressor. The suction muffler includes a main body, to which a suction pipe of the compressor is connected; a refrigerant inflow chamber formed in the main body for allowing a refrigerant transmitted from the suction pipe to flow from the upper portion thereof to the lower portion thereof; a refrigerant outflow pipe for connecting a compression chamber of the compressor and the refrigerant inflow chamber; a resonance chamber formed in the main body such that the resonance chamber is divided from the refrigerant inflow chamber; a partition unit for dividing the resonance chamber and the refrigerant inflow chamber; and a communication portion formed through the partition unit for communicating the refrigerant inflow chamber and the resonance chamber.

A single-phase induction motor includes a main winding, an auxiliary winding, a run capacitor, and a subsidiary start device. The auxiliary winding is configured such that the number of turns of the auxiliary winding, through which a current flows, varies according to the operating mode of the motor. When the motor starts, the number of turns of the auxiliary winding, through which a current flows, is reduced, thereby increasing the start efficiency of the motor. When the motor runs in normal mode, the number of turns of the auxiliary winding, through which a current flows, is increased, thereby increasing the operational efficiency of the motor.

A method of fabricating an N-type Schottky barrier Source/Drain Transistor (N-SSDT) with ytterbium silicide (YbSi2-x) for source and drain is presented. The fabrication of YbSi2-x is compatible with the normal CMOS process but ultra-high vacuum, which is required for ErSi2-x fabrication, is not needed here. To prevent oxidation of ytterbium during ex situ annealing and to improve the film quality, a suitable capping layer stack has been developed.

The stopper includes an inclined portion for supporting the body portion, and a second protrusion extending a support portion thereof. In this case, a distance between the first and second protrusions is shorter than a distance between the inclined portion and body portion. With such first and second protrusions, an opening operation of the discharge valve is gradually achieved.

Disclosed herein is a hermetic compressor. The hermetic compressor includes a suction muffler. The suction muffler includes an inlet part and a refrigerant guide pipe. The inlet part has a shape of a semi-flare pipe, and is spaced apart from an inlet pipe. The refrigerant guide pipe extends from an interior of a resonance chamber to communicate with a compression chamber. An expanding part having an enlarged diameter is provided at an inlet of the refrigerant guide pipe. The inlet part and the expanding part allow noises produced in the compression chamber to be doubly diffused, thus efficiently reducing the noises.

The present invention relates to a multi-channel variable optical attenuator, more particularly, which comprises a multilayer structure of a fiber optic module and an attenuating module in order to enhance the integrity of the multi-channel variable optical attenuator. The multi-channel variable optical attenuator comprises at least two optical signal transmission lines which are arranged parallel with each other, and have associated separating spaces formed between input and output terminals to adjust the power of an optical signal. A screen is placed in one of the separating spaces of the optical signal transmission lines, and movable in a direction crossing the optical signal transmission lines. A Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) actuator is placed above one of the optical signal transmission lines, and connected with the screen to shift the same. The MEMS actuator is placed above a first optical signal transmission line which is placed adjacent to a second optical signal transmission line for placing the screen therein.

Disclosed are a cloned pig expressing green fluorescent protein (GFP) and a cloned pig having a 1,3-galactosyltransferase (GT) gene knocked out. Also, the present invention discloses methods of producing such cloned pigs, comprising the steps of establishing a somatic cell line; preparing a GFP-transfected or GT gene knock-out nuclear donor cell; producing a transgenic nuclear transfer embryo using the nuclear donor cell and a recipient oocyte; and transplanting the transgenic nuclear transfer embryo into a surrogate mother pig. The cloned pig expressing GFP of the present invention is useful for large-scale production of an animal disease model, and the GT gene knock-out cloned pig can be used as a organ donor allowing xenotransplantation in humans without hyperacute immune rejection.
