Abstract:
An improved method for repairing a utility pipe such as underground sewer pipe to internally line the pipe with a tubular liner impregnated with a thermosetting resin, and in this method, a hot water hose having ejection holes is inserted in the tubular liner bag to eject hot water to effect hardening of the thermosetting resin and this hose is provided with numerous floats to float in the water even when the ejected water collects and floods inside the tubular liner bag; thus, efficient shooting of the hot water from the hot water hose is secured.
Abstract:
A branch pipe lining method ensures a reliable air-tight connection between a branch pipe liner bag and a fluid pressure sealing nozzle with a simple structure so that the branch pipe liner bag can be inserted into a branch pipe without fail. A branch pipe liner bag impregnated with a hardenable resin and having a flange at one end thereof is used for the branch pipe repair. The flange of the branch pipe liner bag is folded out to be mounted to a fluid pressure sealing nozzle. A close contact between the flange and the fluid pressure sealing nozzle is held by vacuum pressure. The branch pipe liner bag is then everted and inserted from a main pipe into a branch pipe toward the ground by a fluid pressure. The branch pipe liner bag is pressed onto the inner wall of the branch pipe by a fluid pressure, and the hardenable resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is hardened while the bag itself is kept pressed onto the inner wall of the branch pipe. In this manner, since an air-tight connection between the branch pipe liner bag and the fluid pressure sealing nozzle can be reliably provided by vacuum pressure, a high sealability is ensured between them with a simple structure, whereby the branch pipe liner bag is reliably inserted into the branch pipe.
Abstract:
An improved method for impregnating a tubular lining material with a hardenable liquid resin employed in a pipe repair operation by lining the pipe internally with the lining material; the method comprises (a) supplying about the same amounts of the same hardenable liquid resin to two mixing baths, (b) mixing the hardenable liquid resin with an agent to retard hardening and another agent selected from catalyst to facilitate hardening and hardener in one of the mixing baths, and, at the same time, mixing the hardenable liquid resin with a hardening accelerator in another one of the mixing baths, (c) supplying predetermined amounts of these mixtures to a static mixer from the respective mixing baths, (d) mixing these mixtures together in the static mixer to obtain a final mixture of hardenable resin, (e) supplying the final mixture to the tubular lining material, and (f) impregnating the tubular lining material with the final mixture.
Abstract:
A block unit for repairing flow passage facilities is provided for permitting a desired repair operation. A method of repairing flow passage facilities using the block unit is also provided. The block unit includes an inner plate defining an inner surface, an outer plate disposed along a peripheral edge of the inner plate, and a plurality of reinforcing ribs for reinforcing the inner plate and the outer plate. The block units adjoining in a circumferential direction are joined together with bolts inserted through both circumferential end faces of each the block unit and nuts fitted on the bolts to form a short tube within a flow passage. The short tubes are connected in a longitudinal direction to form a continuous tubular assembly having an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the flow passage. A grout material is injected into a clearance space formed between the tubular assembly and the flow passage.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a pipe liner bag is provided for reliably sealing a seam of a resin absorbent material with simple operations without forming pin holes through the resin absorbent material. The pipe liner bag comprises a tubular resin absorbent material having an outer surface covered with a highly air-tight plastic film and a hardenable resin impregnated in the tubular resin absorbent material. A plastic film is welded on a surface of a strip-like resin absorbent material. The plastic film has a width smaller than the resin absorbent material which has sewing margins in both end portions in a width direction. The resin absorbent material is folded such that the plastic film is exposed. Both edges of the resin absorbent material in the width direction are laid one on top of the other. The overlapping portions of the resin absorbent material is lock sewed to form a tubular resin absorbent material. A seam protection tape is welded or adhered to the sewing margin including a seam of the resin absorbent material. A sealing ribbon tape having a width larger than the seam protection tape is welded or adhered over the seam protection tape to air-tight seal the seam.
Abstract:
A branch pipe lining method is provided for maintaining a favorable surface state on the inner surface of a lined branch pipe. The branch pipe lining method utilizes a branch pipe liner bag composed of a tubular resin-absorbent material having a flange formed at one end thereof, wherein the outer surface of the tubular resin-absorbent material is covered with a highly air-tight film, and the tubular resin-absorbent material is impregnated with an unhardened hardenable resin, and a cylindrical fluid pressure sealing member attached to the inner surface of the flange. A cylindrical front end nozzle attached to an opening at one end of a pressure bag is inserting into the fluid pressure sealing member of the branch pipe liner bag, and the front end nozzle and the fluid pressure sealing member are sealed by an elastic member interposed therebetween. Then, a pressurized fluid is supplied into the pressure bag, with the flange of the branch pipe liner bag being in close contact with an opening of a branch pipe, to evert and insert the branch pipe liner bag into the branch pipe from a main pipe toward the ground. The hardenable resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is hardened with the inserted branch pipe liner bag being pressed onto an inner wall of the branch pipe, followed by pulling the front end nozzle out from the fluid pressure sealing member to tear the pressure bag off the branch pipe liner bag.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of readily manufacturing a multi-layer pipe liner bag with a good workability. A guiding tube is inserted into an outer layer composed of a tubular resin absorbent material and a plastic film coated over the outer periphery of the tubular resin absorbent material. An inner layer composed of another tubular resin absorbent material is inserted into the guiding tube, and the guiding tube is extracted with the outer layer and the inner layer being fixed. The tubular resin absorbent materials of the outer layer and the inner layer are with thermosetting resin to complete the pipe liner bag. Since the outer layer and the inner layer are manufactured separately, the manufacturing of the respective layers can be performed with a good workability. Also advantageously, the plastic film covering the outer surface of the outer layer can be prevented from scratches and so on.
