摘要: A technique is disclosed for an optical transceiver, where the frame ground is electrically isolated from the signal ground in a low frequency region and is conducted in a high frequency region, without applying a capacitor as a substantial circuit component. The transceiver includes a TOSA whose housing is grounded with the FG and connected with the driver with a FPC board. On the FPC board is formed with a parallel plate capacitor, one conductive pattern on the one surface is connected with the housing of the TOSA, while the other pattern in the opposite surface is connected with the SG. This parallel plate capacitor isolates the FG from the SG in low frequencies, while conducts the FG with the SG in high frequencies.

摘要: An L2 switch disposed between a multicast network and one or more user systems includes a switching engine having an input port to receive multicasted data from the multicast network and a plurality of output ports, the switching engine capable of delivering at least a part of the multicasted data from at least one of a plurality of data sources in the multicast network to one or more data-destination ports of the plurality of output ports; a transfer table to store corresponding relations between the at least one of the plurality of data sources and the one or more data-destination ports of the plurality of output ports; and a switching controller to update the transfer table according to a predetermined message that passes through the switching engine and to control the delivering of the multicasted data of the switching engine by referring to the transfer table. The switching controller limits a number of the plurality of data sources to be assigned to each output port of the switching engine within a predetermined number and refuses to update the transfer table for a delivery request that exceeds the predetermined number.

摘要: An optical fiber transmission line for realizing satisfactory long haul transmission characteristics using two kinds of optical fibers. The optical fiber transmission line includes a plurality of local dispersion compensating spans, wide dispersion compensating spans disposed at predetermined intervals, and optical repeating amplifiers to connect each span. The local dispersion compensating span includes a first optical fiber with positive dispersion having an effective core area of 130 &mgr;m2 or more and a second optical fiber with a negative dispersion value of −50 ps/nm/km or less to transmit the light output from the first optical fiber. The wide dispersion compensating span consists of a third optical fiber having the same configuration and composition with the first optical fiber.

摘要: In an optical fiber transmission line between two terminal stations, an input side wavelength converter for up-shifting a wavelength of a signal light is inserted at a front part of each of the optical amplifiers and an output side wavelength converter for down-shifting a wavelength of a signal light is inserted at a rear step of the optical amplifiers. Signal lights transmit in a wavelength band shorter or longer than the zero dispersion wavelength of the transmission optical fiber on said transmission optical fibers. The input side wavelength converter converts the wavelength of the signal lights from the transmission optical fibers within the amplifying bandwidth of the optical amplifiers and the output side wavelength converter returns the wavelength of the signal lights optically amplified by the optical amplifiers.
