The controller also delivers each of the multiple fuel injection shots within defined cylinder piston displacement parameters during a particular piston stroke, within defined fuel apportionment limits, and within defined delay limits between each respective fuel shot so as to control exhaust emissions.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a direct-injection internal-combustion engine comprising at least a cylinder (10), a cylinder head (12), a piston (22) sliding, in this cylinder, intake means (14, 18) for at least one gaseous fluid, a multijet fuel-injection nozzle (24) comprising a fuel jet angle (&bgr;) and a fuel jet nappe angle (a1), and a combustion chamber delimited on one side by the upper face of piston (22), said face comprising a teat (36) pointing towards the cylinder head and arranged in a concave bowl (34).     摘要: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines comprises a fuel injector that injects fuel into a combustion chamber, the combustion chamber being delimited by a cylinder wall in which a piston is guided, and a spark plug that protrudes into combustion chamber. The fuel injector produces a conical mixture cloud in the combustion chamber through at least one row of injection orifices arranged circumferentially on a valve body of the fuel injector. The valve body also provides a centrally arranged injection orifice that produces a central area of the mixture cloud directed towards the spark plug.

The turbulent chamber is peripherally bounded by the top surface of the plate. The turbulent chamber is recessed a predetermined depth relative to the top surface. The silicon plate further defines at least one flow orifice. Each flow orifice extends from the bottom surface of the silicon plate to intersect with and open into the turbulent chamber.     摘要: During operation with part load, a gasoline internal combustion engine is operated with a lean air/fuel mixture by auto-ignition. During operation with full load, spark-ignition is used to operate the engine. The internal combustion engine is operated in three auto-ignition combustion modes depending upon magnitude of a predetermined operating parameter. The operating parameter is indicative of the engine load or the engine speed. The three auto-ignition combustion modes are a gasoline reform auto-ignition combustion mode, an auto-ignition stratified charge combustion mode, and an auto-ignition homogeneous charge combustion mode. In the gasoline reform auto-ignition combustion mode that may be selected during operation with low part load, a first fuel injection during an exhaust gas retaining phase produces sufficient amount of active fuel radicals for promotion of auto-ignition of air/fuel mixture produced by a second fuel injection during the subsequent compression phase. In the auto-ignition stratified charge combustion mode that may be selected during operation with intermediate part load, a fuel injection during compression phase supports auto-ignition. In the auto-ignition homogeneous charge combustion mode that may be selected during operation with high part load, a fuel injection during intake phase supports auto-ignition.
