摘要: A treatment method for preservation of plant leaves wherein the plant leaves are immersed in a dehydrating solvent consisting of acetone and ethyl alcohol to replace the tissue water and remove chlorophyll in the leaves by the dehydrating solvent. Thereafter, the leaves are immersed in a permeating solution containing polyethylene glycol and acetone for allowing polyethylene glycol to permeate the leaves for replacing the dehydrating solvent. Thereafter, the leaves are dyed with a coloring matter.

摘要: A shape information coder divides the pixels in the shape information into subsets representing different subsamplings of the shape information. Each pixel in each subset is coded with reference to a context which may be derived from reference pixels in more than one of the subsets. The context preferably includes reference pixels located on all sides of the pixel being coded, which leads to efficient coding. The shape information coder may have two or more cascaded stages, each operating as above, with one subset of pixels passed from each stage to be coded in the next stage. The resulting coded shape information is useful in, for example, wavelet coding of pictures.

摘要: A scrubber including a casing having an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet. An impeller is mounted in the casing, and the impeller is rotatable about its own axis. An exhaust gas can be introduced into the center of the impeller through the exhaust gas inlet of the casing. A cleaning liquid discharge nozzle is positioned at the center of the impeller for spraying a cleaning liquid in the impeller. Also, a baffle member is spaced apart from and surrounds the impeller. A mixture of the exhaust gas and the cleaning liquid exiting the impeller impinges on the baffle member. The cleaning liquid discharge nozzle is provided inside and rigidly connected to the impeller so as to rotate together with the impeller. The nozzle has a plurality of cleaning liquid discharge orifices extending radially through a cylindrical wall thereof to discharge a cleaning liquid into the impeller.

摘要: An electrophotographic type image forming apparatus is provided with a base frame for supporting an image forming unit and an optical unit frame located above the base frame for supporting an optical unit, the optical unit frame having an extension portion positioned above the discharge tray. The apparatus is further provided with a reinforcing member attached to the optical unit frame. The reinforcing member has an attachment portion extending in a horizontal direction for reinforcing the extension portion of the optical unit frame, and a restricting portion extending in a vertical direction and having a lower end operable to come into contact with a specified portion of the base frame when the optical unit frame is subjected to an excessive load. The optical unit frame is prevented from deformation because the lower end of the restricting portion comes into contact with the base frame when an excessive load is applied to the optical unit frame, which assures high quality image formation.

摘要: This invention relates to an image forming apparatus of electro-photography type in which a light image obtained by reflected light from an original document image by projecting light onto the original document image is changed in size at a set magnification rate to form an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member, and the electrostatic latent image is developed into a toner image. The image forming apparatus includes: a magnification rate setting unit with a lens and a reflective mirror for determining a magnification rate of the light image; lens moving means for moving the lens between a first position and a second position; reflective mirror moving means for moving the reflective mirror between a third position and a fourth position along the optical path; and movement controlling means for controlling the lens moving means to move the lens and the reflective mirror between the first position and the second position and between the third position and the fourth position by respective predetermined distances upon receiving a command signal.

摘要: A display control apparatus, with respect to multiple display areas of a display screen of a display apparatus, assigns one display image to one of the display areas by performing a predetermined calculation. The display control apparatus includes a display image managing section storing image information related to the display image, a display area managing section storing area information related to each display area, a mandatory exclusion information storing section storing mandatory exclusion information that defines multiple display image combinations so that the display image is included in each of the display image combinations, and a display image assignment control section. The display image assignment control section, based on the mandatory exclusion information, determines the display image combinations, generates a display image combination list, and assigns the display image to the display area based on the display image combination list.

摘要: An exhaust gas temperature detection sensor is arranged at a predetermined position outside a muffler, or at a predetermined position outside an exhaust pipe constituting an exhaust gas flow passage on a more downstream side than the muffler in an exhaust direction. The sensor detects that an atmosphere temperature at the predetermined position outside the muffler has reached a predetermined temperature based on an increase in a temperature inside the muffler, or detects that an atmosphere temperature at the predetermined position outside the exhaust pipe has reached a predetermined temperature based on an increase in a temperature of an exhaust gas inside the exhaust pipe.
