Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive an input physical quantity, a value of the input physical quantity, and an output physical quantity. The processor is configured to generate a first array of first conversion operations or a second array of second conversion operations by using conversion rules each for converting a value of a source physical quantity into a value of a target physical quantity. Each conversion operation is a conversion according to a conversion rule or a reverse operation thereof. The first array enables a conversion of the input physical quantity into the output physical quantity. The second array enables the reverse. The processor is configured to convert the received value of the input physical quantity into a value of the output physical quantity by using the first array or the second array.

Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and systems for intelligent multimedia-based thermal power management implemented in a portable computing device (“PCD”) are disclosed. To reduce or increase power consumption in the PCD, embodiments adjust one or more visual multimedia parameters, the settings of which contribute to power consumption associated with an overall multimedia workload. The selection of visual multimedia parameters for setting adjustment is a function of the change in user experience versus the change in power consumption that will likely result from the setting adjustment. Exemplary visual multimedia parameters for which settings may be adjusted by certain embodiments include, but are not limited to, color depth, display brightness, GPU processing resolution, image dynamics algorithm selection, resolution scaling ratios and frames per second processing rates.

Abstract: A control device includes: a first conversion unit that converts floating point data generated by an operation of a floating point operation command into a numeric string in first format; and a second conversion unit that converts the numeric string in first format into a numeric string in second format. A character string data generation unit generates a character string data including the numeric strings in first format and in second format and outputs the character string data to an external device or an external storage medium.

Abstract: System and method for communicating data are disclosed. Method includes facilitating receiving, from a module of a client computing device, a first message in a universal format. Method includes generating a first encoded message by encoding the first message into a network-based procedure call interface associated with a server, based on a stored encoding for the network-based procedure call interface. Method includes facilitating transmitting the first encoded message to a module of the server. Method includes facilitating receiving, from a module of the server, a second message encoded in the network-based procedure call interface associated with the server. Method includes generating a second decoded message by decoding the second message into the universal format, based on the stored encoding for the network-based procedure call interface. Method includes facilitating transmitting the second decoded message to a module of the client computing device.

Abstract: Systems and methods pertaining to nearness calculations of points in n-space. Among the embodiments is associating points of interest with point records in a data store, and efficient retrieval of subsets of those point records which meet arbitrary criteria. Criteria can limit retrieval to neighbors of a reference point (i.e., point records associated with points of interest whose home cells that share at least one interface with another designated home cell). Computationally expensive, at-retrieval range calculations are avoided by performing complimentary calculations at-storage and saving them with related records. The invention is appropriate for use with data storage mechanisms which limit inequality or range operations, or for which such operations result in inefficiencies. When used to model neighboring points on a planetary surface in 3-space, the invention does not suffer from polar distortion (where spherical coordinate systems have difficulty).

The method includes receiving a swipe input related to an image displayed on a touch screen of a viewing device, upon determination that the swipe input will generate an item end effect, causing a crease effect to appear on the image in response to the swipe input, and subsequent to the end of the swipe input, undoing the crease effect on the image to return the image to an original effect.
