摘要: A heated underbody supports including heated mattresses, heated mattress overlays and heated pads, and methods of using heated underbody supports, for therapeutic warming. The heated underbody supports include a heater assembly and a layer of compressible support material. The heater assembly includes a flexible heating element , first and second bus bars, and a temperature sensor. The flexible heating element is a conductive fabric which can be adapted to stretch into a 3-dimensional compound curve without wrinkling or folding while maintain electrical conductivity, and wherein the heating element is adapted to return to the planar shape when pressure is removed. The flexible heating element may include a fabric which is coated with a conductive or semi-conductive polymer. The heated underbody support may also include a water resistant shell which may encase the heater assembly and the compressible support material.

摘要: A surgical sponge is provided, having a radiofrequency (RF) tag positioned interior thereto. The RF tag has a base layer with at least one tab projecting from an outer perimeter of thereof. The RF tag has a first protective layer with at least one tab projecting from the outer perimeter of the RF tag and generally aligned with the at least one tab of the base layer and an RF identifier laminated between the base layer and the first protective layer. The RF identifier has an antenna, and an electrically responsive member. The antenna can be a metal foil loop antenna etched on to the base layer. The RF identifier can include additional metal foil provided on the base layer when the metal foil loop antenna is etched on to the base layer, the additional metal foil configured to enhance x-ray opacity of the sponge.

摘要: A patient securing overlay is provided that includes a sheet of fabric for supporting a patient's torso on a surgical table. The sheet of fabric has an upper surface configured to face the patient and a lower surface configured to face a surgical table mattress or underbody support. The sheet of fabric includes friction enhancing elements applied to at least a portion of the upper surface thereof. The sheet of fabric can include an extension at a foot end of the sheet of fabric that provides material to be tucked under a foot end of the surgical table mattress or underbody support for securing the foot end of the sheet of fabric to the surgical table mattress or underbody support. The extension can include one or more friction enhancing elements.

摘要: Embodiments include a catheter anchoring device for securing a percutaneous medical catheter inserted at a skin puncture site to a skin of a body. The catheter anchoring device may include a catheter capture portion coupled to a skin attachment portion. The catheter capture portion may be configured to engage with a portion of the catheter protruding from the skin when the catheter is subcutaneously placed in a body. The skin attachment portion may be configured to adhesively attach the anchoring device to the skin, wherein the skin attachment portion is primarily attached to the skin overlaying and lateral to the subcutaneously located catheter.

摘要: A method for an operator to handle a rake includes gripping, with a first hand, a handle of the rake in proximity to a mid-shaft portion of the handle, and gripping, with a second hand, the handle of the rake in close proximity to a free end of the handle such that a line extending across the row of teeth, being approximately perpendicular to the extension of a centrally located tooth of the row of teeth, forms an angle of less than ninety degrees with portions of the handle, the angle being on a first lateral side of the rake head that is adjacent to the operator.
