摘要: The present invention provides compositions, methods, apparatus, and systems to minimize environmental impact, water use, and overall cost of drilling and hydraulic fracturing for crude oil and natural gas. Some variations of the invention provide a fracturing-fluid additive composition comprising a water-soluble portion of a biomass-pyrolysis liquid. In some embodiments, the fracturing-fluid additive composition is substantially biodegradable and is not toxic. Some variations provide improved proppants for oil or gas well fracturing. Other variations of this invention relate to drilling-fluid additive compositions, and methods of using these compositions. This invention can significantly improve the environmental, economic, and social sustainability associated with drilling and fracturing for production of oil and gas.

摘要: An acid source and a pressure source are provided. The acid may be fresh hydrochloric acid or (partially) spent hydrochloric acid. Pressurized acid from the acid source, pressurized by the pressure source, is injected into a wellbore during an acidizing operation. In addition, a carbon dioxide source may be provided. Acid from the acid source is combined with carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide source, and the combined acid and carbon dioxide, pressurized by the pressure source, are injected into the wellbore during the acidizing operation. A processor located at the earth's surface or downhole may be provided. The processor can monitor the relative proportions of carbon dioxide and acid in the acid/carbon dioxide combination, as well as the pressure of the acid/carbon dioxide combination at an injection site in the wellbore. Acidizing operation management decisions can be made based on the monitored relative proportions and/or the monitored pressure.

摘要: The present invention relates to hydrolyzable compounds for treatment of a subterranean formation and methods of using the same. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation including obtaining or providing a composition comprising a hydrolyzable compound comprising at least one of an ester and an anhydride. The method can include placing the composition in a subterranean formation, and at least partially hydrolyzing the hydrolyzable compound to reduce the pH downhole. In various embodiments, the subterranean formation can include a crosslinked gel, and the method can include at least partially breaking the crosslinked gel to provide a broken gel. The method can include at least partially removing the broken gel from the subterranean formation.

摘要: The present invention relates to resin compositions for treatment of a subterranean formation. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation. The method can include obtaining or providing a resin composition that includes a hardenable composition including a hardenable resin. The resin composition also can include a hardening composition including a water control hardening agent. The method can include contacting a subterranean material downhole with the resin composition, and reacting the hardenable composition and the hardening composition, to give a hardened resin composition. In some embodiments, the resin composition provides both particulate consolidation and water control.
