    摘要: Formable stitched together precursor fabric made from weft and warp flat tapes of fiber-reinforced polymer on a weft insertion-stitching machine. The weft tape is supplied from a rotatable or stationary package that is pulled by a tension compensator that is driven in synchronism with an indexing carriage that wraps the tapes around continuously moving weft hooks. A constant tension on the tape is maintained. The weft tapes are stitched to the warp tapes, all in plane tapes having edges that abut substantially throughout the fabric.

    摘要: A mat for use in a paved surface comprises a nonwoven or woven fibrous mat made from fibers including polymer fibers, the polymer fibers having a melting point greater than about 320null F. (160null C.). The mat has a load-elongation behavior such that when the mat is subject to tensile stress, the mat achieves at least 90% of its ultimate load at an elongation not greater than 5% of the specimen length in the direction of applied stress. Another mat comprises a nonwoven or woven fibrous mat made from fibers selected from the group consisting of mineral fibers, polymer fibers, natural fibers, and mixtures thereof, and a rubbery binder. Another mat comprises a nonwoven or woven fibrous mat made from a blend of high melt polymer fibers having a melting point of at least 350null F. (177null C.) and low melt polymer fibers having a melting point of less than 350null F. (177null C.).

The aim of the invention is to attain an improved joining of warp threads and weft threads without requiring the use of additional fixing threads or stronger fixing threads. To this end, the invention provides that, in the areas in which the weft threads (2) cross the warp threads (1), the lengths of the meshes (7) of the fixing threads (3) are distinctly shorter than the lengths in the areas of the mesh structure which are located therebetween.
