Abstract:
A power monitoring system includes a plurality of current sensors suitable to sense respective changing electrical current within a respective conductor to a respective load and a conductor sensing a respective voltage potential provided to the respective load. A power monitors determines a type of circuit based upon a signal from at least one of the current sensors and a signal from the conductor, wherein the type of circuit includes at least one of a single phase circuit, a two phase circuit, and a three phase circuit. The power meter configures a set of registers corresponding to the determined type of circuit in a manner such that the configuring is different based upon each of the single phase circuit, two phase circuit, and three phase circuit suitable to provide data corresponding to the determined type of circuit.
Abstract:
A monitoring system for monitoring operation of a refrigerant-cycle system is disclosed. A differential pressure sensor measures a pressure difference between: (i) air at a first location upstream of an evaporator of the refrigerant-cycle system; and (ii) air at a second location downstream of the evaporator of the refrigerant-cycle system. An electrical sensor measures an electrical quantity indicative of power consumption of the refrigerant-cycle system. A processing system determines whether airflow through the evaporator is restricted based on the pressure difference. The processing system calculates an efficiency of the refrigerant-cycle system based on the power consumption of the refrigerant-cycle system.
Abstract:
A monitoring system for monitoring operation of a refrigerant-cycle system is disclosed. A condenser unit sensor measures an operating characteristic of a condenser unit, the condenser unit including a condenser and a compressor. An evaporator unit sensor measures an operating characteristic of an evaporator unit, the evaporator unit including an evaporator and a fan. An electrical sensor measures an electrical quantity indicative of power consumption of the refrigerant-cycle system. A processing system calculates an efficiency of the refrigerant-cycle system based on the power consumption of the refrigerant-cycle system, the operating characteristic of the condenser unit, and the operating characteristic of the evaporator unit.

The contacting module has at least one connecting element and at least one connector contact pin, the connector contact pin being surrounded in at least one connection region by the connecting element. The connector contact pin is electrically connected to the connecting lead.
Abstract:
A cover for the bulb of a thermal expansion valve is comprised of two halves of an insulative body that are wrapped around the bulb and associated outlet types in clamshell fashion to encapsulate the combination. Internal and external flaps are hingedly connected along their longitudinal edges to permit access for inspection purposes, and the external flap is secured to the internal flap by Velcro. A tongue structure on the outer surface of the body fits into grooves on the inner surface of the outer flap to seal the cover against the entry of moisture. The two halves are secured in place at their ends by way of bands.

Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for estimating temperature are provided for estimating a temperature of a test point in a space with an air conditioner. In the method, a first and a second sensor device are deployed in the space, wherein the second sensor device is deployed at the test point. Then, state parameters and temperature transformation functions are defined according to temperatures detected by the first and the second sensor devices and a state of the air conditioner during a predetermined time period. After the second sensor device is removed, a current state of the air conditioner is determined by reference temperatures detected by the first sensor device and the state parameters. One of the temperature transformation functions is selected according to the current state, and a current temperature of the test point is estimated by using the selected temperature transformation function and the reference temperatures.
Abstract:
An energy monitoring and analysis system for a building includes a logging unit, a processing unit, temperature sensors that read the temperatures inside and outside the building, electric current sensors that read electric currents in all independent electric connections at the main connection panel of the building, and other types of sensors such as those related to natural gas flow. The logging unit periodically collects the data from all the sensors and transmits the data to the processing unit. The processing unit analyzes the data using highly sophisticated algorithms, extracts various parameters, profiles the electric energy usage, identifies potential problems with energy transfer and use, and lists recommendations for corrective actions. The processing unit analyzes data of the building, an HVAC system associated with the building, and consuming devices associated with the building.
