A terminal and a method for prompting service failure in the video telephone service are disclosed, and the terminal comprises a processing module, a storing module and a setting module which are connected orderly. Said terminal sets and stores the corresponding relationship between different failure prompt information and prompting modes according to the user's command, and when the terminal receives a video telephone call request and the called user performs the failure prompting operation, the terminal generates a call failure prompt message according to the preset failure prompt information and the prompting mode corresponding to said failure prompt information and sends it to the calling user. After the calling user terminal receives said call failure prompt message, it analyzes and acquires the failure prompt information and the corresponding prompting mode, and displays and/or plays the failure prompt information to the calling user according to the prompting mode.

A voicemail system includes a memory and a processor. The memory can store data relating to one or more users. An incoming communication can be handled by the voicemail system and provided with functionality based upon a user's preferences, for example. The voicemail system can include functionality to allow a user to convert a voicemail message to a desired format and forward voicemail message, for example as a file, to one or more designated destinations. Methods for forwarding one or messages are also disclosed.

Devices of a telecommunication network described herein are configured to reduce a service level associated with a quality of service offered by the telecommunication network to a user. The devices may reduce the service level responsive to data consumption by the user exceeding a threshold or responsive to data consumption associated with an application or data type. Also, the devices may be configured to increase a video-conversation-specific service level responsive to determining that a client device of the user is establishing a video conversation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods to adjust actions based on latency levels are described. The method may be executable to determine an action being performed by a robotic device. The method may also be executable to generate data based on execution of the action to provide to a server and receive information indicative of latency attributable to communication between the robotic device and a server. The method may also determine a priority at which to provide the generated data to the server and provide the generated data to the server in an order based on the priority. When the latency is above a threshold amount, the method may identify information of the generated data having a given priority above a threshold level and provide a reduced resolution version of the identified information to the server.

A voicemail system includes a memory and a processor. The memory can store data relating to one or more users. An incoming communication can be handled by the voicemail system and provided with functionality based upon, for example, preferences of a user. The voicemail system can include functionality to allow a user to archive a voicemail message, to convert a voicemail message to a desired format, and/or to forward a voicemail message or converted voicemail message file to one or more designated destinations. The voicemail system can operate on a communications network, at a communications device, or both. Methods for archiving, converting, and/or forwarding voicemail messages are also disclosed.

Provided are a facsimile apparatus, a communication apparatus, and a communication method that perform communication using a session established according to a session initiation protocol (SIP). If an INVITE in which a media type is designated as “audio” is received, an INVITE in which a media type is designated as “image” is transmitted. If a success response is made to the transmitted INVITE, an image session is established and facsimile communication or image communication is executed. If an error response is made to the transmitted INVITE, calling processing for calling an operator is started.

A system for and method for provisioning video ring back tones (vRBTs) is presented. The system may include one or more network enabled computers configured to receive video content from one or more parties over a network. The video content may be used to create one or more vRBTs. The vRBTs may be associated with one or more subscriber profiles. The vRBTs may be assigned to one or more parties. When a party attempts to place a video call to a subscriber, the vRBT may be played back on the calling party's video-equipped device until the subscriber answers the call, ignores the call, or sends the call to voicemail.

A telecommunications system for use in a secure facility such as a jail, prison or the like. The systems, devices and methods disclosed provide telecommunications, email, other messaging, financial services, vending, and commissary or canteen services for inmates of a secure facility with respect to family, friends and others. The system includes a phone server adapted to be communicatively connected to an external service provider; a monitoring station communicatively connected to the phone server; an account manager server communicatively connected to the phone server, and at least one telecommunications device disposed at the secure facility for use by the inmate and which is communicatively connected to the phone server. A method of telecommunicating, including receiving incomming calls at the secure facility, via the system is also disclosed.

A method (200) for managing voicemail messages for a visual voicemail system (102) can include establishing a secure data session (212) between a voicemail system (102) and a mobile device (118). The voicemail system (102) can receive a voicemail message (202) that is directed to a voicemail account associated with a voicemail subscriber. The voicemail system (102) can generate a notification message and can send the notification message (208) to the mobile device (118) that is associated with the voicemail account that received the voicemail message. In response to the notification message, the mobile device (102) can generate and send a first request for voicemail message header information (234). The voicemail system (118) can send the requested voicemail message header information (236) to the mobile device (102) and, in response, receive a second request for at least one voicemail message (238). The voicemail message can send at least a portion of the at least one voicemail message (240) to the mobile device (118).

Various embodiments of the invention provide an apparatus and method for providing a video call in a portable terminal. The method includes displaying a plurality of first image data in a predetermined first area; transmitting the a plurality of the first image data; receiving a plurality of second image data from another portable terminal; and displaying the plurality of the second image data in a predetermined second area.
