Abstract:
Provided is a portable device. The portable device includes a near distance antenna, a long distance antenna, a first power generation circuit, a second power generation circuit, and a battery. The near distance antenna receives a first power source signal in an electromagnetic inductive coupling scheme. The long distance antenna receives a second power source signal in a magnetic resonance scheme. The first power generation circuit generates a power source from the first power source signal. The second power generation circuit generates a power source from the second power source signal. The battery is charged with the generated power source.
Abstract:
A dielectric barrier discharge reactor made in the form of a module formed of two electrode panels that are vertically arranged in a parallel manner each having a plurality of metal discharge needles and a meshed treatment unit set between the electrode panels in a parallel manner. The meshed treatment unit includes a substrate having a size equal to the electrode panels, and a metal catalyst prepared from gold, silver, platinum, nickel, manganese, chrome or their combination and coated on the substrate. The dielectric barrier discharge reactor is practical for home or public space application to purify air.
Abstract:
An EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) light source device ionizes a target material in an ionizer, and supplies the ionized target material to a point of generating a plasma. This reduces the generation of debris. The ionizer simultaneously irradiates laser beams of plural wavelengths corresponding to the excited level of tin on a target material to ionize the target material. The ionized target material is extracted from the ionizer with a high voltage applied from an ion beam extractor, and accelerated and supplied to a plasma generation chamber. When driver laser beam is irradiated on the ionized target material, a plasma is generated, thereby emitting EUV radiation.
Abstract:
A charging system for a legged mobile robot that facilitates positioning of a robot to be charged and does not put a load on the robot is provided. The charging system includes a battery 2, a power receiving connector 4 and a movable shutter member 5 capable of being opened and closed on a rear cover 3, which are provided on a robot 1, and a holder 21, a power supplying connector 22, a slide mechanism 23, a base plate 25, a charging power supply 26 and the like, which are provided on a charging station 20. The robot 1 performs a predetermined positioning on the base plate 25 and then moves the center of gravity rearward to connect the power receiving connector 4 to the power supplying connector 22. In this step, when the rear cover 3 of the robot 1 is guided by a first guide section 21a of the holder 21, the slide mechanism 23 allows the holder 21 to move horizontally. Thus, even if the robot 1 and the charging station 20 are slightly misaligned with each other, the robot 1 can be easily positioned correctly.
Abstract:
A battery connection detection circuit is disclosed that is able to correctly determine an operation condition of a secondary battery and a connection condition between the secondary battery and a charging device. A determination circuit monitors both the voltage Vt1 on the battery connection terminal T1 and the current supplied to the secondary battery BAT, and therefore, the determination circuit can correctly determine the operation condition of the secondary battery and the connection condition between the secondary battery and the charging device even when high frequency noise is superposed on the power supply voltage Vdd, and when the power supply voltage decreases.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A mounting member (50, 50′, 50″, 50′″) for an arc tube/shroud combination comprises an annulus (52). The annulus (52) has at least one mounting tab (54) depending from an outer edge thereof and two spaced apart arc tube-pinch seal-engaging ribs (56, 58) spanning the diameter of the annulus for frictionally engaging the pinch seals. Holding tabs (62) depending from the annulus mount the annulus to a shroud. In a preferred embodiment the ribs (56, 58) have upstanding projections (60) that engage the pinch seals and provide the friction fit necessary for holding the pinch seals.
Abstract:
Electroacoustic battery sonication rehabilitates a battery by decreasing metallic shorting across battery elements through sonication. Sonication may be produced by application of an electrical signal of selected frequency to the terminals of a battery, thereby establishing a resonant condition within the battery. Alternately, sonication may be provided by transducers placed within a battery and receiving a drive signal of selected frequency to establish a resonant condition within the battery. By removing metallic shorting, e.g., lead hydrates in the case of a lead acid battery, undesirable electrical conduction between battery plates diminishes and battery charging efficiency and capacity increase.
Abstract:
A glass incandescent display lamp is provided which includes a glass container and a glass faceplate forming a sealed glass envelope enclosing an evacuated space. A plurality of electrically-conductive filament posts having first and second ends is provided with the filament posts extending through a wall of the glass envelope so that the first ends terminate in the evacuated space, and the second ends terminate outside of the sealed glass envelope. A set of incandescent filaments is secured to the first ends of the filament posts for the passage of current and for producing a display. In addition, a plurality of conductor pins for connecting the filaments to an external source of power is provided with each of the conductor pins having one end embedded in the wall of the glass envelope and the other end extending to the exterior of the sealed glass envelope. In order to provide strain relief for the filament posts and in order to prevent breaking of the hermetic seal, the second ends of the filament posts are connected to the portion of the conductor pins which are outside of the sealed glass envelope.
Abstract:
An electrode adapted for use in an electrohydraulic system in which kinetic forces are developed by means of a submerged electrical discharge. An elongated electrode extends axially toward a body of hydraulic fluid and axially through a chamber defined by an annular conducting member and a generally conical insulator. A plurality of arc-initiating members extend radially inwardly from the annular member. The elongated electrode includes a first arc-initiating enlargement and a second, axially-spaced enlargement which acts as a shield for the insulator, the enlargements being disposed axially at opposite sides of the arc-initiating electrodes.
