Abstract:
The invention relates to a coextruded, biaxially oriented polyester film including a base layer (B) and at least one outer layer (A), in which the base layer (B) is mainly formed from thermoplastic polyester and the outer layer (A) is mainly formed from a mixture of from 50 to 97% by weight of ethylene-acrylate copolymer and from 3 to 50% by weight of polyester, where the proportion of acrylate in the ethylene-acrylate copolymer is from 2.5 to 15 mol %, based on the monomers of the copolymer. A process for the production of the film, and the use of the film are also described.
Abstract:
Oil-soluble, phenolic resin-modified natural resinic acid esters, which are able to form self-gelling mineral oil solutions and in the form of gel varnishes can advantageously be used as binder resins in printing inks for offset printing and letterpress printing, and also processes for their preparation from natural resins, phenols, aldehydes, condensation catalyst, esterifying agents and modifiers by reaction of the components at temperatures in the range from 80.degree. to 300.degree. C., individual components preferably being initially introduced and the other components being metered in, the combined use of a magnesium compound as condensation catalyst and the continuous removal of the water of reaction during the condensation reaction by azeotropic distillation with co-use of an inert organic solvent as distillative entraining agent being necessary and decisive for the self-gelling property of the process product.
Abstract:
A polymeric sheet structure consists of an adhesion-promoting coating on at least one surface of the substrate. The adhesion-improving coating is produced by treating this substrate surface with an electrical corona discharge between high voltage electrodes and a grounded counter-electrode while simultaneously spraying an aerosol into the corona discharge zone. The aerosol contains, for example, an aqueous emulsion of thermoplastic and/or crosslinkable components as an adhesion-promoting agent.
Abstract:
Described is a transparent shrinkable film comprising a base layer prepared from propylene-containing polymers and a hydrocarbon resin. The base layer contains about 5% to 40% by weight of a propylene homopolymer, 0% to about 30% by weight of a hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin having a softening point in the range from about 80.degree. to 125.degree. C., and about 30% to 95% by weight of a random ethylene-propylene copolymer, the percentages being related to the total weight of the mixture. A top layer is arranged on either side of the base layer. The invention also describes a process for the manufacture of the film.
Abstract:
A shrink film comprising at least one polyolefinic layer comprising polypropylene and a resin admixture is disclosed. The film processes a shrinkability of more than 20%, measured at 90.degree. C., in the transverse direction and of less than 8%, also measured at 90.degree. C., in the longitudinal direction. The film is manufactured by coextrusion followed by stretching in the longitudinal and transverse directions, whereby stretching in the longitudinal direction is performed such that the birefringence value .DELTA.n of the longitudinally oriented film does not exceed the range from 10.times.10.sup.-3 to 13.times.10.sup.-3.
Abstract:
The extruded, biaxially oriented dielectric film is composed of high-purity electrical film raw material. It is suitable as electrical insulating film in particular as a dielectric in an electrical capacitor, and exhibits improved dielectric properties for this prupose. The film comprises propylene polymers and stabilizers for the propylene polymers. The raw material of the film has an idealized thermo-oxidation temperature in the range from 260.degree. to 300.degree. C., preferably 260.degree. to 280.degree. C. The dielectric film has an idealized thermo-oxidation temperature of 250.degree. to 300.degree. C., in particular 250.degree. to 280.degree. C. The content of organic neutralizing agents, in particular calcium stearate, in the raw material is less than/equal to 100 ppm.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an opaque, biaxially stretch-oriented, polyolefinic multilayered film comprising an opaque core layer and two transparent top layers. The core layer contains a mixture of1) about 45 to 90% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer comprising propylene,2) about 5 to 25% by weight of an inert, particulate filler, and3) about 5 to 30% by weight of a hydrocarbon resin being compatible with the thermoplastic polymer and having a softening point in the range from about 100.degree. to 160.degree. C.,the percentages being each time related to the total weight of the mixture. The top layers are free from admixtures comprising particulate filler and resin. The film possesses high resistance to delamination.
Abstract:
Moldings having a thickness of 1 to 60 mm and made of flexible webs or rigid sheet of plastic are passed through a corona discharge treatment system consisting of high-voltage electrodes and a counter-electrode and a high-frequency alternating current voltage of 20 to 25 kHz and 20 to 70 kV is applied to the high-voltage electrodes by a generator. A corona discharge forms in the gap between the high-voltage electrodes and the counter-electrode. An aerosol formed by atomizing a liquid is blown into the corona discharge zone by means of an air or gas stream. The aerosol modifies the surface of the sheet-like molding in the desired manner.
