Abstract:
A pulse width modulation (PWM) signal generator includes a quantizer for generating a quantized signal by quantizing an input signal, an asymmetric pulse width modulator, and an error correction unit. The asymmetric pulse width modulator generates an asymmetric PWM signal by comparing the quantized signal with a reference signal, with the asymmetric PWM signal being asymmetric with respect to a center of a period of the reference signal. The error correction unit is coupled between the quantizer and the asymmetric pulse width modulator to correct an error generated from the asymmetry of the asymmetric PWM signal. The quantizer is part of a delta sigma modulator having an operating frequency that is twice that of the reference signal.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a filter used in a gas generating apparatus of a car airbag. The car airbag is equipped with a gas generating apparatus for generating high temperature and high pressure, in which gunpowder is exploded by ignition of an igniter, by which a gas generating agent is burned. By combustion of a gas generating agent, a high temperature and high pressure gas is generated, which should be cooled down to be suitable for expansion of an airbag while impurities contained in the gas are removed. The present invention relates to a filter prepared by sintering a perforate plate with metal powder prepared by processing machining chips to meet the foregoing requirements. The filter according to the present invention is prepared by preparing a perforated plate in a cylinder form by uniformly forming holes of 1 to 8 mm on a metal plate using a frame mold and rolling up the plate, preparing metal powder of 20 to 50 mesh by processing machining chips, placing the perforated plate in a molder and vibration packing the metal powder to be uniformly distributed, and sintering the metal powder at 1000 to 1350° C. for 15 to 120 minutes.

Abstract:
A Delta-Sigma modulator that allows for a reduction in the oversampling ratio (OSR) of a radio frequency (RF) Analog to Digital Converter. The modulator comprises a 1-bit quantizer, a N-bit quantizer and a digital quantization error correction circuit that corrects a for quantization error by using digital output signals from the 1-bit quantizer and from the N-bit quantizer, and reduces the quantization noise when the modulator transforms an analog input signal into the digital output signal. The quantization noise is reduced by ditigally correcting quantization errors, which affect the signal-to-noise ration (SNR) characteristic, using digital output signals of the multi-bit quantizer and the 1-bit quantizer. Also, a DC offset which may be generated by the multi-bit quantizer can be digitally removed.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a photonic crystal organic light emitting device. The device comprises a transparent substrate having a concavo-convex structure in an upper surface thereof, a transparent electrode layer formed on the transparent substrate, a hole conduction layer comprised of an organic EL material and formed on the transparent electrode layer, an electron conduction layer comprised of an organic EL material and formed on the hole conduction layer, and a cathode layer formed on the electron conduction layer. Here, a photonic crystal period due to the concavo-convex structure formed in the upper surface of the transparent substrate corresponds to a wavelength level of light generated at an interface between the electron conduction layer and the hole conduction layer. Therefore, a light extraction efficiency and a viewing angle are increased without degeneration of the image quality. Further, since the photonic crystal has an effective refractive value ranged between that of the transparent substrate and that of the transparent electrode layer, it has the same effect as in nonreflective coating, thereby simultaneously increasing the transmittance.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a surface emitting laser device with a monolithically integrated monitor photodetector, which is combined with an automatic power control circuit, thereby being capable of more accurately controlling the surface emitting laser output power. A method is also disclosed, which is adapted to fabricate the surface emitting laser device. In accordance with, the present invention, the surface emitting laser device includes insulating layers each sandwiched between an intrinsic semiconductor layer and a doped semiconductor layer in a monitor photodetector adapted to partially absorb light emitted from a surface emitting laser, thereby outputting a detect signal for the light. The insulating layers serve to remove photocurrent resulting from spontaneous emission light emitted from the surface emitting laser. By this configuration, it is possible to accurately control the power of light emitted from the surface emitting laser through a laser window.
