The method comprises forming a breath sample using the patient's breath; exposing one or more sensors to the breath sample; detecting one or more components of the anesthetic drug in the breath sample; measuring a concentration of at least one of the components of the anesthetic drug in the breath sample; and determining a concentration of the component in a plasma of the patient using a transfer function and the concentration of the component in the breath sample.

The PID, comprises a substrate comprising a gas ionization chamber, at least one pair of ion sensing electrodes, and at least one amplifying circuit; and an ultraviolet (UV) ionization source to transmit a UV light beam into the gas ionization chamber. A system comprises the PID is also provided. A method of detecting a response pattern for various compounds or gases in breath using PID is also provided.

A system for analyzing gas concentrations in a gas mixture includes an array of semiconductor light sources which are configured to generate an electromagnetic radiation having a narrow bandwidth. A controller modulates the electromagnetic radiation at a modulating frequency to provide light pulses at an absorption wavelength of at least one target gas. The system also includes an acoustic resonant gas chamber to hold the gas mixture and configured to receive the light pulses and amplify acoustic signals emanating from the gas mixture. A processor determines a concentration of the target gas based on acoustic signals.

Still further, the method includes directing the laser beam to a target layer based on position information in vertical wobbles. The method also includes recording an offset voltage for the target layer into the look-up table. Finally, the method includes determining a final voltage based on the look-up table and applying the final voltage to an actuator for moving the laser beam to a final target position in the holographic storage medium for recording and retrieval of information.

A method for fabricating scanning probe microscopy (SPM) probes is disclosed. The probes are fabricated by forming a structural layer on a substrate, wherein the substrate forms a cavity. A sacrificial layer is located between the substrate and the structural layer. Upon forming the structural layer, the sacrificial layer is selectively removed, and the probe is then released from the substrate. The substrate may then later be reused to form additional probes. Additionally, a contact printing method using a scanning probe microscopy probe is also disclosed.
