摘要: An expandable stent and delivery system therefor is provided for treating vascular diseases such as partially occluded blood vessels and aneurysms. The delivery system includes proximal, intermediate and distal cylindrical members disposed about an elongated core member. The proximal, intermediate, and distal cylindrical members are spaced apart such that first and second gaps are formed. The expandable stent includes anchor members which are formed by winding a radiopaque coil onto a threaded portion of a strut member of the expandable stent. The expandable stent is mounted on the intermediate cylindrical member with the anchor members disposed within the gaps between the cylindrical members. A deployment catheter is used to compress and constrain the stent about the intermediate cylindrical member to thereby interlock the stent onto the core member.

摘要: The disclosure relates to a high speed process for bleaching greige cloth. The system involves bleaching of the cloth in roll form, in multiple roll batches, utilizing a forced circulation of high temperature liquid bleach at superatmospheric pressures. In the preferred system, a rack, containing a plurality of rolls of greige cloth, is loaded into a pressure vessel. The rack includes means for connecting the several rolls of cloth individually to separate pumps and heat exchangers. Bleaching liquid is pumped through heat exchangers, heated to a high temperature, and thus forced through the rolls. A preferred bleaching material is hydrogen peroxide, but other conventionally used liquid bleaches may also be used in the process. Although the bleach material is introduced into the cloth at a substantially elevated temperature, it is kept from vaporizing by maintaining the bleaching vessel under superatmospheric pressure.To greatest advantage, a single pressure vessel is utilized, in conjunction with appropriate solution storage vessels, pumps, and valves, to carry out the various related operations associated with the bleaching step, including preliminary impregnation with wetting-out solution, the addition of optical dyes, if desired, washing, the addition of softening solutions and other finishing agents, etc. The invention also contemplates drying of the bleached cloth while it remains in the roll form and still contained in the bleaching vessel, by means of electromagnetic energy.The new system enables extraordinary reductions in bleaching time to be realized, and also greatly simplifies the related processing. Important savings are realized in equipment and in personnel, as well as in processing time.

摘要: A treatment device for use with an endoscope having a instrument channel for passage of an endoscopic instrument and a distal end is provided. The treatment device includes an end effector assembly with a base for placement at the distal end of the endoscope, an end effector rotatable relative to the base, and a mounting portion for attaching the base to the endoscope. The mounting portion is resiliently compressible and can be radially compressed for insertion into the instrument channel, whereby an expansion force of the resiliently compressed mounting portion retains the base relative to the distal end of the endoscope. The mounting portion also includes an opening longitudinally extending therethrough and communicable with the instrument channel and sized for receiving an endoscopic instrument therethrough.

摘要: An endoscopic tissue grasper device includes a flexible tubular member, a flexible shaft extending through the tubular member, a proximal handle for moving the shaft and tubular member relative to each other, and a distal helical coil having a sharpened end for engaging tissue. The helical coil has a proximal close wound portion, a distal open wound portion, and an intermediate transition portion between the proximal and distal portions. The flexible shaft extends into the proximal and intermediate portions and is secured thereto, which prevents tissue engaged by the helical coil from becoming wedged in the transition portion and thereby facilitates release of the coil from engaged tissue. In addition, a bearing sheath is provided between the shaft and tubular member to prevent the shaft from binding during operation.
