摘要： A lubricant additive obtained by heating an acidic phosphate ester and/or a phosphite ester (A) represented by the general formula (I): (wherein A represents H or OH, m is 0 or 1, when m is 0, A is OH, and when m is 1, A is H or OH, R1 and R2 each independently represent H, or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms that may contain at least one O and S, both R1 and R2 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms) and an imide-based dispersant containing boron (B) at a temperature of 120 to 150° C. for 5 hours or more, which can concurrently enhance excellent wear resistance, excellent scoring resistance and prolong surface fatigue life while keeping the balance of these properties at an optimum level.

摘要： In order to facilitate an assembling operation of a structure which is correctly operated with a proper positional relation, in a power roller unit for a toroidal type continuously variable transmission according to the present invention, a displacement shaft, a power roller, a radial needle bearing, a thrust ball bearing and a thrust needle bearing are pre-assembled to a trunnion. After dimensional relations and operation conditions of the constructural parts of the assembly or unit are ascertained, the assembly is assembled within a housing together with other unit, thereby completing the toroidal type continuously variable transmission.

摘要： A toroidal-type continuously variable transmission provides an input side disk disposed on an input shaft, an output side disk disposed on an output shaft, and a power roller for transmitting motive power of the input shaft to the output shaft while engaging both the input side disk and the output side disk, in which the input side disk, the output side disk, and the power roller made of a material are subjected to either a carburizing and grinding process or to a carbonitriding and grinding process so that effective carburized depths of the input side disk, the output side disk, and the power roller are limited to a range between 2.0 mm and 4.0 mm. The toroidal-type continuously variable transmission is capable of improving not only the rolling contact lives of the traction surfaces of the input and output side disks as well as the traction surfaces of the power rollers, but also the fatigue fracture lives of the input and output side disks and power rollers.

摘要： A lubricating oil composition is herein disclosed which comprises as the main compounds, (A) a base oil comprising a mineral oil or a synthetic oil; (B) a hindered phenol compound represented by the general formula (I) or (II) ##STR1## wherein m is an integer of 1 to 5; (C) an alkylated diphenylamine compound; and (D) a borated succinic acid imide compound. This lubricating oil composition is excellent in heat resistance and oxidation stability in a gaseous phase of the oil, and it stably functions for a long time as a traction drive oil or the like.

摘要： A tilting angle detector detects a tilting angle of the power rollers which perform the transmission operation of a toroidal type infinitely variable transmission. Based on the detecting signal and a command value signal from command value selecting means for selecting a command value of the transmission ratio, control means controls the power rollers to tilt. In this control, correction means corrects at least one of the detecting signal of the tilting angle detector and the command value signal of the command value selecting means so that a relationship of the transmission ratio with respect to the tilting angle becomes linear, and thus the gain at each transmission ratio is made equal.

摘要： Disclosed is a synthetic single crystal for an alexandrite gem, which consists essentially of a synthetic chrysoberyl single crystal comprising aluminum oxide and beryllium oxide as the main components and chromium and vanadium as the coloring components, wherein vanadium is contained in an amount of about 0.00075 to about 2.95% by weight based on the crystal.This single crystal shows a green or bluish green color under natural light and the color is changed to red or reddish violet when the single crystal is exposed to tungsten light the single crystal of the present invention is comparable or superior to natural alexandrite produced in the Ural Mountain Region with respect to the hue and color change characteristics.
