摘要: Incised or injured tissue is treated by introducing material that encourages healing to desired depths within the tissue. Particularly, the invention provides treatment of an access channel to a blood vessel by introducing to the tissue a hemostatic material to a position that is located adjacent, but does not extend beyond, the vessel wall.In one aspect, the invention features a device for treating an incision channel through tissue and the wall of a body lumen. The device includes a member having a proximal portion constructed to remain outside the body and an elongate generally tubular distal portion that is constructed to be introduced axially into the channel and be moveable axially therein. A detector is disposed on the side of the tubular distal portion. The detector is adapted to detect a predetermined condition indicative of an axial position within the channel. A healing promoting substance is carried by the member and releasable from the member into the channel at a desired axial location relative to the location indicated by the detector.

摘要: Embolic protection aspirators and methods for extracting debris from the vasculature during interventional procedures are provided. One such system may include an aspirating filter delivery catheter having a filtration device, an operable end cap, and a plurality of aspiration ports. The delivery catheter may be fluidly coupled to a suction providing means for extracting debris while traversing a target site for distal delivery of the filtration device. Another such system may include an aspirating filter retrieval catheter having an aspiration lumen and a balloon. The aspiration lumen may be fluidly coupled to a suction providing means for extracting debris from the filtration device prior to and/or during retrieval of the filtration device. By inflating the balloon to partially or fully restrict blood flow, suction pressure proximal of the filtration device may be increased to enhance debris extraction.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention regard the delivery of therapeutic. One such apparatus may comprise multiple, independently-activated, injection devices for the delivery of therapeutic or other substances. This apparatus may include a first catheter; a second catheter in the first catheter and a multiple delivery member injection device. This multiple delivery member may include an expandable member and a plurality of injection elements. A third catheter may be positioned in the second catheter. This third catheter may have a distal end connected to a wall of the expandable member and a plurality of filling tubes connected to an distal end of the third catheter. In some of the embodiments each of the injection elements may hold a pressurized therapeutic prior to release of the therapeutic.

摘要: An apparatus includes an elongate body configured to be at least partially inserted into a gastrointestinal lumen. The elongate body is configured to perform a medical procedure within the gastrointestinal lumen. A beacon element is coupled to the elongate body. The beacon element is configured to be identified within the gastrointestinal lumen using a sensing device. A method includes imaging a gastrointestinal lumen with an imaging device. An apparatus is inserted at least partially into a gastrointestinal lumen. The apparatus has an elongate portion, a tool portion and a beacon element. The location of the beacon element is identified within the gastrointestinal lumen using a sensing device. The tool portion is moved to an area of interest within the gastrointestinal lumen based on the location of the beacon element.

摘要: An apparatus includes an elongate body having a plurality of discretely controllable portions. The plurality of discretely controllable portions are configured to be maneuvered within a body lumen along a predetermined path associated with an image of the body lumen. At least one portion from the plurality of discretely controllable portions may include a marker. A method includes inserting an elongate body at least partially into a body lumen. The elongate body has a plurality of discretely controllable portions. The elongate body is maneuvered within the body lumen along a predetermined path associated with an image of the body lumen. The maneuvering includes changing the relative orientation of the plurality of discretely controllable portions.
