Abstract: The present techniques provide systems and methods of controlling access to more than one open page in a memory component, such as a memory bank. Several components may request access to the memory banks. A controller can receive the requests and open or close the pages in the memory bank in response to the requests. In some embodiments, the controller assigns priority to some components requesting access, and assigns a specific page in a memory bank to the priority component. Further, additional available pages in the same memory bank may also be opened by other priority components, or by components with lower priorities. The controller may conserve power, or may increase the efficiency of processing transactions between components and the memory bank by closing pages after time outs, after transactions are complete, or in response to a number of requests received by masters.

Abstract: An external defibrillator used to treat a patient wirelessly communicates with an implantable medical device (IMD) implanted in the patient. In some embodiments, a telemetry head may be removably coupled to the external defibrillator to facilitate communication with the IMD. The defibrillator may receive information, such as patient, device, physiological, and treatment information, from the IMD. The defibrillator may use some or all of this information during treatment of the patient. For example, the defibrillator may prompt a user, or modify programmed user prompts based on the information. The defibrillator may deliver therapy based on the information. The information may include real-time values of physiological parameters monitored by the IMD, which may be displayed by the external defibrillator. The external defibrillator may control delivery of therapy by the IMD. The defibrillator may collect medical event information during treatment of the patient, and store the medical event information in the IMD.

Abstract: In a directed auto-refresh (DARF) mode, refresh commands are issued by a controller, and refresh row and bank addresses are maintained internally to a memory module. A bank address counter internal to the memory is initialized to a first predetermined value upon entering DARF mode. The memory refreshes the currently addressed bank in response to a DARF command, and increments the bank address counter in a predetermined sequence. The controller tracks the bank address, and may issue one or more memory access commands while a DARF operation is being performed, if the memory access and the refresh are directed to different banks. Upon exiting a self-refresh mode, the bank address counter assumes a second predetermined value. The second predetermined value may be fixed, or may be n+1, where n is the value of the bank address counter when self-refresh mode is initiated.

Abstract: For use in conjunction with a system for producing, at a transmitter location, time division multiplexed (TDM) frames having a plurality of channels of information signals and framing signals, communicating the frames from the transmitter location to a receiver location, and, at the receiver location, deframing the received frames to obtain frame timing signals and a bitstream of information signals which are coupled with a plurality of operating units. A technique for responding very quickly, upon loss of the TDM signal, to prevent misoperation of the operating units, including: at the transmitter, inserting a preselected pattern of bits in a timeslot of the information signals; at the receiver, detecting, in the deframed bit stream, the absence of the preselected pattern of bits, and producing a control signal in response; and producing override information signals that are coupled to the operating units when the control signal is present.

Abstract: A method for controlling pests and weeds on or around plants, especially crop plants. The method includes admixing 2-propenal or other related enal compounds to form an aqueous solution, and applying the aqueous solution to plants, plant seeds, weeds, or soil around the around the area in which the plants grow. The aqueous solution contains about 1 to about 1350 parts of the active compound per million parts of water, and is applied to the soil in amounts of from about 75 pounds to about 800 pounds of active compound per acre of soil. At lower application rates of from about 1 pound to about 100 pounds of the active compound per acre of soil, 2-propanol and related enal compounds have the beneficial effect of enhancing the growth of the plants. In addition, application of these enal compounds also helps in reducing transplant shock of tomato plants.
