Abstract:
A hydraulic shock absorber having a plurality of tubes (outer and inner tubes), which constitute a multiple-walled cylinder to be inserted inside a damper tube, held and secured between a rod guide and a support piece under a compressive load applied to all of the tubes. In the hydraulic shock absorber (10), a contact surface (P), where an end surface of the inner tube (13B), of the tubes (13A, 13B) of the cylinder (13), is in contact with a seating surface (201) of a rod guide (21) in the axial direction, is formed intermittently at a plurality of circumferential positions on the end surface of the inner tube 13B in the state where the tubes (13A, 13B) of the cylinder (13) are held and secured.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to reduce current consumption for switching and holding an actuation position of an electromagnetic change-over valve included in a vehicle height adjusting device for a motorcycle and to surely hold the actuation position. In a rear-wheel side vehicle height adjusting device for a motorcycle, after applying a startup current to a solenoid of a change-over valve in order switch an actuation position of the change-over valve, while switching an applied current to the solenoid to a holding current which is smaller than the startup current and holding the actuation position of the change-over valve, a control section intermittently applies a large current, which is larger than the holding current, to the solenoid.
Abstract:
A vehicle height adjustment apparatus includes a rear wheel suspension spring that is disposed between a vehicle body and a tire wheel of a vehicle; a rear wheel damper that undergoes an extensional and contractional operation so as to move working oil to dampen vibration of the spring; a support member that supports one end portion of the spring, and moves relative to the damper to change the length of the spring; a jack chamber into which the working oil causing the support member to move relative to the damper flows by the extensional and contractional operation of the damper; a rear wheel electromagnetic valve that adjusts the amount of the working oil flowing into the jack chamber by the degree of opening of the electromagnetic valve; and control device that controls the degree of opening of the electromagnetic valve based on a weight exerted on the vehicle.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to ensure that, during adjustment of a spring load by an adjuster, total fully-stretched lengths of an outer tube and an inner tube remain unchanged and the adjuster is prevented from protruding from an upper surface of a cap. In a hydraulic shock absorber 10, a spring load adjusting device 30 is configured such that an adjuster 31 is provided at an upper end portion of a vehicle body side tube 11, a push rod 33 that is moved up and down by the adjuster 31 is penetrated into a hollow portion of a hollow rod 23, a suspension spring 35 is pressurized by the push rod 33 that protrudes from the hollow portion of the hollow rod 23 to the inside of a wheel side tube 12, and the spring load of the suspension spring 35 can be adjusted by the up-and-down motion of the push rod 33 caused by the adjuster 31.
Abstract:
A stroke detection device includes a stem shaft which is formed of a conductor in a shape of a cylinder, in which a center line of the cylinder is located in parallel to center lines of inner tubes and outer tubes of front forks coupled to a bracket, and which serves as a steering center axis of handlebars of a motorcycle, and a coil which is formed of a conductor and provided so as to be movable in a direction along the center line of the cylinder of the stem shaft with movement in a direction along the center line of the inner tubes and the outer tubes of the front forks, in which a variation in inductance of the coil based on change in length in which the coil and the cylinder of the stem shaft overlap each other is output.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to stabilize a rider's driving position in spite of a change in vehicle height. Provided is a motorcycle 1 that adjusts a vehicle height by interlocking a rear-wheel-side vehicle height adjusting operation based on controllable actuation of a hydraulic jack 41 provided in a rear suspension 10, with a front-wheel-side vehicle height adjusting operation based on controllable actuation of a hydraulic jack 141 provided in a front fork 110.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle height control device for a motorcycle which enables a vehicle height to be retained at any intermediate position and which implements instantaneously switchover of the vehicle height. A vehicle height control device for a motorcycle has vehicle height detection means for detecting the vehicle height, a selector valve that connects, by switching, a jack chamber in a hydraulic jack to an oil reservoir chamber that communicates with oil chambers in a damper tube, and control means for controlling the switching of the selector valve based on a detection result from the vehicle height detection means in order to retain the vehicle height at any position.
Abstract:
In a vehicle-height adjustment apparatus of a motorcycle having the hydraulic jack attached to the damper, damping force characteristics of a damper are stabilized, the influence of the charged gas pressure of an oil reservoir chamber is eliminated, and the sealing performance of a hydraulic jack is reduced. In the vehicle-height adjustment apparatus of a motorcycle, a back pressure chamber is provided on a side opposite to a jack chamber, with a plunger being interposed therebetween inside a hydraulic jack, and this back pressure chamber is communicated with a hydraulic chamber inside a damper tube.
Abstract:
A vehicle height adjustment device affords better footing by ensuring that a vehicle height is lowered upon vehicle stop.A vehicle height adjustment device 100 in a vehicle has means (ECU) for predicting a vehicle stopping predicted time, and when a predicted vehicle stopping predicted time is not more than a predefined reference vehicle stopping time, implementing a vehicle height lowering control mode, and enabling a vehicle height lowering operation through switching of a switching valve.
Abstract:
In a vehicle height adjusting device for a motorcycle, the vehicle height is adjusted on the basis of proper vehicle speed information when a failure occurs in a vehicle speed sensor. In the vehicle height adjusting device for a motorcycle, when a failure occurs in a vehicle speed sensor, a control section adjusts vehicle height by using vehicle speed information calculated from an engine speed signal, a shift position signal of a transmission, and an ON/OFF signal of a clutch.
