A transmission type projection screen is provided with a transparent film attached adhesively to only opaque or shading parts formed on top surfaces of ridges provided on the front surface of a lens sheet. The lens sheet is provided on its rear surface with a plurality of lenses for condensing light projected by a light source. The shading parts do not receive the light condensed by the plurality of lenses. The film protects the front surface of the lens sheet of the screen, and prevents scattering of the lens sheet in fragments when the lens sheet is cracked.

In a projection screen for a rear projection type television set, three lens sheets are arranged in the order of a lenticular lens sheet, a linear Fresnel lens sheet, and a circular Fresnel lens sheet when seen from a viewer's side toward a projector tube. As compared with the arrangement in which the linear and circular Fresnel lens sheets are exchanged with each other, it is possible to obtain a higher brightness and a more uniform brightness, and color uniformity in the picture plane. Further, when the light incident surface of the linear Fresnel lens sheet is matted, it is possible to eliminate white bands (seen from the viewer's side) effectively.

Grains of a totally porous, hydroxyl group-containing, nonionic and hydrophilic synthetic cross-linked polymer having alcoholic hydroxyl and ether groups as main hydrophilic groups and having as a main skeleton a chemical structure including carbon atoms, hydrogen atoms and oxygen atoms bonded through single bonds, said synthetic polymer having a hydroxyl group density of 1 to 15 milliequivalents/g, a specific surface area of 5 to 1000 m.sup.2 /g and a water regain of 0.3 to 3.0 g/g. Such grains have been found to be a packing material or gel for high speed, aqueous gel permeation chromatography. The packing material of the present invention which comprises grains of a hydroxyl group-containing nonionic and hydrophilic synthetic cross-linked polymer has a chemical structure obtained by reacting a totally porous, hydroxyl group-containing, nonionic polymer with a polyfunctional substance capable of reacting with the hydroxyl groups of said polymer while forming cross-linking ether groups.

A magnetic recording structure comprises (1) a substrate having an outer surface, and (2) a laminar magnetic recording piece disposed adjacent to at least one part of the outer surface of the substrate, the recording piece comprising a magnetic layer, a color layer and a non-magnetic metal deposition layer interposed between the magnetic layer and the color layer, the magnetic layer being closer to the substrate than the color layer.The non-magnetic metal deposition layer disposed on the magnetic layer has high hiding power and, even in the form of an extremely thin layer, can effectively hide the color of the magnetic material.Accordingly, this magnetic recording structure can be produced with a surface of a beautiful color without impairing its magnetic characteristics.

A novel three-component type acrylic resin composition comprising a C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkyl ester of acrylic acid, methyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate in a specific ratio. Such composition can be readily molded into a shaped article which is excellent in solvent resistance even upon being fabricated. The composition of the present invention is also featured by its good heat distortion temperature and mechanical strength, as compared to the conventional acrylic resin composition.
