    摘要: A process is described in which butene oligomers are prepared from Fischer-Tropsch olefins, in which the butenes present in a C.sub.4 fraction of Fischer-Tropsch hydrocarbons are oligomerized to obtain dibutene. The dibutene can be fractionated in a fine distillation stage into di-n-butene and di-isobutene. In one embodiment of the process, the ethylene present in the Fischer-Tropsch olefins is dimerized and the dimerization mixture is recycled to the C.sub.4 fraction. In another embodiment, the isobutene present in the C.sub.4 fraction is reacted with an alcohol to give an alkyl tert-butyl ether, and only the remaining n-butene is oligomerized so that di-n-butene is formed as the sole dibutene.

    摘要: An apparatus deployed through a laparoscopic incision in a body wall to apply an external lifting force over a large area of the body wall. The apparatus comprises a body wall engaging element and an elongate lifting member. The body wall engaging element is capable of passing in a packaged state through the laparoscopic incision, is inflatable to an inflated state, and includes, in the inflated state, a plane lifting surface. The elongate lifting member includes a distal portion connected to the plane lifting surface, and capable of passing through the laparoscopic incision. A proximal portion receives the external lifting force in a direction that moves the body wall engaging element into contact with the body wall. A method for lifting a body wall by applying an external lifting force to a large area of the body wall through a laparoscopic incision. The lifting device is provided that includes an body wall engaging element capable of passing through the laparoscopic incision in a packaged state. The lifting device also includes a lifting member including a distal portion to which the body wall engaging element is connected. The body wall engaging element and the distal portion of the lifting member are advanced through the laparoscopic incision. The body wall engaging element is inflated to an inflated state to provide a plane lifting surface. Finally, the external lifting force is applied to the proximal portion of the lifting member to move the lifting surface into contact with the body wall.

    摘要: An inbalance detecting and correcting station for a disk-shaped rotor. The system rotates a rotor up to speed at a measuring station, and detects reflections from the rotor. A peak among the reflections is detected in steady state, and 80% of this peak is taken as a trigger level. The peak is then used to provide a phase reference whenever the reflection exceeds the trigger level. Inbalance data is determined based on the phase 0 detected at this peak. An inbalance correction station corrects for this inbalance, using the same trigger level detected in the inbalance measuring station. This trigger level is coupled from the inbalance detecting station to the inbalance correction station, and a photosensor detects reflections from the same rotor. These reflections from the same rotor are used with the same trigger level to produce pulses at appropriate times without having to re-measure the trigger level.

    摘要: An apparatus for balancing a body to correct for unbalance determined during a measurement run on a balancing machine. The body to be balanced is rotated at a measuring speed by compressed air and the unbalance is determined. A braking device then is applied to the body to brake the body and rotate the body at a low speed. When a predetermined portion of the body is located in a desired angular position, a stopping device, such as a pawl, is actuated to stop rotation of the body. Appropriate mass is then added to or removed from the body to correct the unbalance. If necessary, the pawl is released, and body is incrementally rotated so that unbalance can be corrected on several portions of the body. The apparatus, instead of balancing the body, is usable to mark the body as to the location of unbalance.

    摘要: An instrument guide and implant holding device is provided which releasably secures an implant to the instrument guide. The device provides a convenient guide for surgeons to perform various operative techniques on the subject bone without the need for separate devices, and allows all these operative techniques to be performed without removing the instrument guide from the dissected area until all operative techniques have been completed. The releasable mechanism allows the surgeon to easily hold the instrument to an implant using a simple press-fit approach, and easily releases from the implant with a minimal amount of force. An embodiment also allows the surgeon to releasably lock the cannula in a given orientation about the centroidal axis of the implant fastener hole.
