The head may also have a nozzle that discharges a fill material into the cured tubular structure.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed for use in manufacturing a composite structure. The system may include a support configured to move in a plurality of directions during manufacturing of the composite structure, and a head coupled to the support. The head may have a housing that is configured to receive a liquid matrix and at least one continuous fiber and configured to discharge a tubular structure. The head may also have a nozzle operatively connected to the housing and configured to deposit a material layer onto a surface of the tubular structure as the tubular structure is discharging from the housing, and a squeegee associated with the nozzle and configured to wipe over the material layer. The head may further have a first cure enhancer operatively connected to the housing and configured to cure the liquid matrix in the tubular structure during discharge, and a second cure enhancer configured to cure the material layer deposited by the nozzle.
Abstract:
The present invention is intended to solve a problem that a coating film has an uneven thickness in the case where a coating target 1 has a stepped portion extending in a predetermined direction on its coating surface. To solve the problem, a follow-up coating is performed along the stepped portion S extending in the predetermined direction after coating of the entire coating surface of the coating target 1 so that paint mist adheres more to a relatively-recessed side of the stepped portion S.
Abstract:
A rotary atomizing head (7) is provided with an outer peripheral surface washing passage (14) open onto anatomizing head outer peripheral surface (13) for causing wash fluid supplied from a feed tube (6) to flow out into an annular clearance (20) between the rotary atomizing head (7) and a shaping air ring (15). An outflow opening (14C1) of an outflow passage (14C) constituting the outer peripheral surface washing passage (14) is provided in a position closer to the backside into the annular clearance (20) by a length dimension (L1) than a front end surface (17A) of a front ring section (17) constituting the shaping air ring (15). Further, the outflow opening (14C1) opens to the annular clearance (20) in an angle (α1) that is an acute angle to the atomizing head outer peripheral surface (13).
Abstract:
A device for receiving and/or discharging a disposal medium from cleaning and/or rinsing processes of an application apparatus can comprise a separation equipment which is provided to receive the disposal medium discharged by the application device and to subject the disposal medium to a separation. The device can also comprise a receiving equipment which is provided to receive a disposal medium and a suction device which is provided to suction and/or suction off at least a part of the disposal medium led to or into the receiving equipment.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a coating method for coating a component surface (4) with a coating agent, in particular for painting a motor vehicle body component with a paint, having the following steps: • emitting a spray jet (1) of the coating agent onto the component surface (4) of the component to be coated by means of an atomizer (2), said spray jet (1) having a main axis (5) and having an asymmetry with respect to the main axis (5) such that the spray jet (1) generates a spray pattern with a corresponding asymmetry on the component surface (4), and • at least partially compensating for the asymmetry of the spray jet (1) such that the asymmetry of the resulting spray pattern on the component surface (4) is reduced. The invention further relates to a corresponding coating device.
Abstract:
In a rotary atomizer (10) including a rotating bell (92) secured to a rotating shaft (20a) of an air motor (20) held in an atomizer body, the rotating bell having a plurality of orifices (92a) for supplying paint to an object to be painted, the rotating bell being rotated to spray the paint toward the object to be painted, the rotary atomizer comprises a paint passage (102a) with a paint port (112c) at an end thereof fluidly communicating with the orifices of the rotating bell, and a water passage (108) arranged outside of the paint passage and having a water port at an end of the water passage leading to the orifices of the rotating bell. A needle (94) for opening and closing the paint port may be provided.
Abstract:
Target substrates are electrostatically coated by flowing an electrically isolated wet coating composition containing waterborne coalescable polymeric binder into an electrostatic coating apparatus (100), depositing the coating composition onto a rotating electrostatically-charged atomizer (104) and thence onto the target substrate, flowing an electrically isolated aqueous cleaning liquid into the apparatus before deposition of the coating composition onto the rotating atomizer is halted or interrupted, and depositing the aqueous cleaning liquid onto the atomizer before or within a sufficiently short time after a halt or interruption in coating composition deposition onto the atomizer so that a coalesced polymeric binder film does not accumulate on the atomizer.
