    摘要: A hub unit having a sensor comprises a hub unit 1 having a wheel-side raceway member 4, a body-side raceway member 5 and two rows of rolling bodies 6, and a sensor device 2 provided on the hub unit 1. The body-side raceway member 5 has a cylindrical portion 16 and a flange portion 17 provided with an insertion hole for a bolt for fastening the hub unit 1 to a vehicle body. The sensor device 2 has a magnetic sensor 31 supported by a support member 33 fixed to the flange portion 17 and serving as a displacement sensor for detecting variations in the distance between the sensor and the cylindrical portion 16. A magnetized portion 34 is provided on the cylindrical portion 16 at a location opposed to the sensor.

    摘要: A hub unit is configured such that nitrogen gas, which functions as inert gas, is filled in a rolling element arranging space which is defined by an inner circumferential surface of an outer ring and an outer circumferential surface of a hub wheel for arranging rolling elements therein in such a manner as to be sealed therein in a semi-hermetically closed state by a seal member and a cover, so as to prevent the nitrogen gas from flowing out to an exterior space. The seal member, which is provided at an end portion of the rolling element arranging space which end lies on a vehicle-outer side, is formed as an elastic seal element, and is fixed to the outer ring at one end whereas being secured to the hub wheel at the other end thereof while being elastically deformed, whereby the seal member has a function to prevent the intrusion of water from the exterior space into the rolling element arranging space. This seal member prevents the inert gas filled in the rolling element arranging space from flowing out to the outside.

Consequently, a bearing unit for wheel support is realized at a low cost with the pre-load securely applied, preventing unpleasant noise from occurring during operation, and preventing play due to plastic deformation.

    摘要: A wheel bearing device, in which a swaged portion of a wheel hub abuts against a shoulder portion of a joint outer ring, is provided to positively prevent a stick slip noise from being generated at the time of the vehicle being pulled away from a parked position. The wheel bearing device includes an outer ring having double rows of race surfaces formed on its inner circumference; a wheel hub having one of the double rows of race surfaces formed on its outer circumference; an inner ring press-fitted over a reduced diameter step portion of the wheel hub and having the other of the race surfaces formed on its outer circumference; and double rows of rollers interposed on the respective race surfaces between the outer ring and the wheel hub and between the outer ring and the inner ring. The wheel bearing device is configured such that an end portion of the reduced diameter step portion of the wheel hub is swaged to thereby integrate the wheel hub with the inner ring, and a joint outer ring of a constant velocity universal joint is fitted into an inner diameter of the wheel hub via torque transmission means, allowing the swaged portion of the wheel hub to abut the shoulder portion of the joint outer ring. The swaged portion of the wheel hub is left non-quenched, whereas the surface-hardened abutted portion of the shoulder portion of the joint outer ring has a surface roughness of Ra 5.0 or more.

The first lateral support includes a first mount and the second lateral support includes a second mount that is axially aligned with the first mount. All space between the first mount and the second mount is devoid of any structural component that directly interconnects the first and second lateral supports. The wheel assembly also includes a circumferential rim structure that is adapted to support a tire. The first and second lateral supports attach to the rim structure at first and second locations, respectively, that are radially spaced from the first and second mounts, respectively. Vehicles and swing-arm assemblies including exemplary wheel assemblies are also provided.
