Abstract:
A steel cord (10) adapted for the reinforcement of elastomers comprises: a core steel filament (12) with a core steel filament diameter dc and coated with a polymer (14); six intermediate steel filaments (16) with an intermediate steel filament diameter di smaller than or equal to the core steel filament diameter dc; these intermediate steel filaments (16) are twisted around the core steel filament (12); ten or eleven outer steel filaments (18) with an outer steel filament diameter do smaller than or equal to the intermediate steel filament diameter dl; these outer steel filaments (18) are twisted around the intermediate steel filaments (16), the outer steel filaments (18) are preformed in order to allow rubber penetration inside the core (10). The core steel filament (12), the intermediate steel filaments (16) and the outer steel filaments (18) all have a tensile strength at least 2600 MPa. The cord (10) has an outer diameter D according to following formula: D≦dc+2×di+2×do+0.1 wherein all diameters are expressed in millimeter (mm).
Abstract:
A steel cord comprises a core with one or more core steel filaments and further comprises a first layer of intermediate steel filaments twisted around the core, and a second layer of second steel filaments twisted around the first layer. At least one of the intermediate steel filaments is individually coated by means of a polymer with a minimum thickness of 0.010 mm. The polymer reduces the fretting between the coated intermediate steel filaments and the other steel filaments and makes the steel cord suitable for reinforcement of carcass plies of a tire.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire comprises a cord-reinforced layer such as carcass, belt, bead reinforcing layer which is made of metallic cords, each metallic cord is made up of six to twelve metallic filaments whose diameter is in a range of from 0.15 to 0.45 mm, the metallic filaments include waved filaments and unwaved filaments, each waved filament is two-dimensionally waved at a wave pitch and wave height before twisted, the wave pitch is in a range of from 5.0 to 35.0 times the diameter of the filament, and the wave height is in a range of from 0.2 to 4.0 times the diameter of the filament, and the metallic filaments are twisted together into the cord at a twist pitch of from 10 to 40 mm so that the two-dimensionally waved filaments are each subjected to a certain rotation around its axial.
Abstract:
A light weight cable bead core 30 is described having an inner core 33 made of a metal wire 34 with an outer sheath 35 of steel cord wires 36. Each cord 36 is made of a plurality of filaments 37. The bead core 30 is particularly suited for heavy-duty service conditions in tires 100 for aircraft, off-road equipment, and commercial trucks.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire has a bead core consisting of a single core and plural sheath layers formed by helically winding plural sheath wires around the core, in which an end count of sheath wires in an outermost sheath layer is made smaller than an end count at a close-packed state or each sheath wire constituting a second sheath layer from an outermost side is covered with a coating rubber prior to the winding.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire comprises a bead core formed by laminating three or more sheath layers of spirally twisted sheath filaments around a thick core wire and making reverse the twisting direction of the sheath filament in these sheath layers every the sheath layer, in which the number of twisting pitches in the sheath filament of a second sheath layer viewed from the outermost side is made smaller than that in sheath filament of a sheath layer located inward from the second sheath layer.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an endoscopic extraction device which retains its operative usefulness for longer periods of time, and therefore need to be replaced less frequently. This extended instrument life is accomplished through the use of a composite wire construction, which includes, an inner monofilament wire of nitinol material surrounded by six stranded stainless steel wires. A wire construction in which a nitinol wire is surrounded by five stranded stainless steel wires is also disclosed. After constructing a wire basket in the normal manner using this material, heat is applied to the formed basket in its pre-formed shape to set the memory characteristics of the inner nitinol core.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a steel wire rope for conveyor belts. The steel wire rope includes a central steel wire, a steel wire layer externally wound on the central steel wire, and a plurality of external steel wire strands. Each external steel wire strand includes a core steel wire and N external steel wires. The central steel wire, the steel wire layer externally wound on the central steel wire, and the plurality of external steel wire strands are wound into a steel wire rope for conveyor belts in one step. The steel wire layer is externally wound on the outer side of the central steel wire, the external steel wire strands are wound to wrap the outer side of the steel wire layer, and the external steel wire strands are in line contact with the steel wire layer.
Abstract:
Provided is a rubber-reinforcing steel cord that has superior productivity and is advantageous in reducing weight and improving bending resistance, as well as a conveyor belt that uses the rubber-reinforcing steel cord. A rubber-reinforcing steel cord 1 having a 1+6+(6+6) structure formed by twisting individual steel wires 2, 3, 4a, and 4b once in the same direction, a twist multiple of at least 9 and not greater than 14, and an outer diameter of not greater than 4 mm is used by being embedded in a rubber product.
