It is an object of the present application to prevent an excessive reaction of a throttle valve when the opening of the throttle valve is controlled on the basis of a plurality of required torques. The control apparatus includes: required torque consolidation means for calculating an after-consolidation required torque; first torque control means which causes an actual torque to follow variation of the after-consolidation required torque by changing the opening of the throttle valve in accordance with the variation of the after-consolidation required torque; and second torque control means which fixes the opening of the throttle valve and causes the actual torque to follow variation of the after-consolidation required torque.

The valve lifts of the first and second engine valves are different from each other when the control mechanism performs minimum lift control on the valve lift mechanism to control the valve lifts of the first and second engine valves to minimum lifts.

    摘要: A ‘Blackburn Cycle’ or 8 stroke and 4 stroke cycle change piston engine has a separate fuel/air inlet duct and valve in a cylinder where the throttle means admits a small volume, namely less than 10% of the cylinder capacity, needed for a low idling speed. A separate ‘air only’ inlet duct and valve admits alternate ‘air only’ inductions in each cylinder when less than half load is needed. The preferred plug type of throttle can be disc or cone shaped or shaped to substantially fill the volume between the closed throttle and the inlet valve seat. For higher power the throttle moves away from the inlet valve to open the inlet port. Fuel is injected into the small volume between the throttle and the inlet valve where engine heat helps vaporize the fuel without heating a large mass of the inlet air.

    摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system for use in a four-stroke, internal combustion, compression-ignition engine having at least one engine cylinder, at east one combustion chamber, at least one intake valve and a crankshaft. The EGR system includes at least one exhaust gas intake valve that is opened during at least a portion of an engine intake stroke when the exhaust gas pressure is greater than the pressure of gas in the combustion chamber, thus allowing exhaust gas to flow into the combustion chamber to establish internal EGR. A cam-operated intake rocker arm assembly has the form of both a first class lever and a second class lever. The first class lever directly communicates motion of the intake rocker arm assembly to open the intake valve, and the second class lever communicates motion of the intake rocker arm assembly through a hydraulic transfer assembly to open the exhaust gas intake valve.
