Abstract:
A variable displacement compressor optionally varies displacement based upon pressure in a crank chamber for adjusting the pressure in the crank chamber by varying an opening degree of a passage that interconnects the crank chamber and one of relatively high and low pressure regions of the refrigeration cycle. A control valve of the variable displacement compressor has a valve seat and a valve. The valve seat has a seat surface for adjusting the opening degree of the passage. The valve has a valve surface for adjusting the opening degree of the passage. At least one of the seat surface and the valve surface is made of a material with relatively high hardness.
Abstract:
A compressor includes pistons, each of which is coupled to a swash plate through a pair of shoes. The swash plate rotates integrally with a drive shaft. The shoes convert the rotation of the swash plate to the reciprocation of the piston. A lubricating coating made of copper-based material is formed on parts of the swash plate along which the shoes slide. The copper-based material includes silicon. The shoes smoothly slide on the swash plate, which is coated by the lubricating coating that uses minimum amount of lead.
Abstract:
A thermal spray coating method comprising producing a high speed flame from a combustion gas and spraying a thermal spray coating material powder onto the surface of a base material by using the high speed flame to form a coating on the surface of the base material. The thermal spray coating material powder is a mixed powder comprising (A) 98-70% in volume of Cu based lead bronze alloy powder and (b) 2-30% in volume of Al powder or Al based alloy powder.
Abstract:
A piston for diesel engines is made of a toughness-increasing aluminium alloy containing copper, nickel, silicon, magnesium, iron and manganese. The use of this material, which can conventionally be chill-cast, and by implying special dimensions, provides a piston which, despite its relatively light construction, provides the utmost security against cracking in the stressed regions, e.g. the piston boss or the combustion chamber recess.
Abstract:
A movable member slides on a fixed member. The movable member is made of aluminum alloy. An inner layer coats the movable member. The inner layer is made of a material capable of adhering to the aluminum alloy. An outer layer coats the inner layer and contacts the fixed member. The outer layer has greater hardness than the hardness of the inner coating layer.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an aluminum alloy suitable for high temperature applications comprised of at least 9 wt. % Si, 3 to 7 wt. % Ni, 1.5 to 6 wt. % Cu, at least one of the elements selected from Mg, Mn, V, Sc, Fe, Ti, Sr, Zn, B and Cr, the remainder aluminum and impurities.
Abstract:
A swash plate type compressor is provided with a surface coating layer on the surface of a swash plate. The surface coating layer acts to prevent the frictional resistance which leads to seizure conventionally occurring by the direct contact of the shoes and the swash plate body. The swash plate body is produced from aluminum or aluminum alloy and the surface coating layer is made of tin and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, zinc, lead and indium.
Abstract:
An extruded aluminum alloy improved especially in wear resistance and cuttability and comprising 12 to 30% of Si and 0.3 to 7.0% of Cu, with or without 0.3 to 2.0% of Mg, the balance being substantially aluminum. In this alloy, primary Si crystals 40 to 80 microns in particle size occupy at least 60% of the area occupied by all the primary Si crystals in the aluminum matrix, and eutectic Si crystals up to 10 microns in particle size occupy at least 60% of the area occupied by all the eutectic Si crystals in the matrix. The primary and eutectic Si crystals are uniformly dispersed throughout the matrix. A process for preparing the extruded aluminum alloy is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A shoe incorporated into a swash plate type compressor as a drive force transmitting element intervened between a rotatable swash plate and a reciprocal piston has a first member made of a seizure-resistant material such as ceramic and hard metal, and has a flattened contact face in slidable contact with the swash plate, and a second member made of less seizure-resistant material but easily machined and having a spherical bearing face slidably engaged with the piston, the first and second members being joined together to form a unitary element.
Abstract:
A fluid compressor comprises a cylinder block, a driving shaft rotatably mounted in the cylinder block by means of thrust bearings and radial bearings, an inclined disk rigidly secured to the driving shaft, pistons slidably disposed in cylinder bores formed in the cylinder block, and shoes for operably connecting the inclined disk to the pistons, which are reciprocally moved in the cylinder bores when the inclined disk is rotated to pressurize gaseous fluid for cooling. In order to accommodate the inclined disk, the cylinder block has a housing, which is provided with recesses or grooves on the opposite axial end surfaces to catch the lubrication oil flowing along the inner wall of the housing. Oil ports or passages are also provided for introducing the oil from the recesses or grooves to the radial bearings. Sliding bearings may be used as the radial bearings. Such a sliding bearing may be provided with an oil guide groove or ball indents on the inner peripheral wall thereof.
