Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for configuring group indices for uplink transmissions from a user equipment (UE) such that the UE may be able to determine whether to combine uplink transmissions scheduled on overlapping time resources. Specifically, the UE may combine uplink transmissions associated with a same group index for transmission in a single channel, and the UE may avoid combining uplink transmissions associated with different group indices. In some cases, the indication of a group index associated with an uplink transmission from a UE may be explicit (e.g., provided in a downlink control information (DCI) message), and, in other cases, the indication of a group index associated with an uplink transmission from a UE may be implicit (e.g., corresponding to a resource allocated for the uplink transmission).

Abstract: An embodiment method, by a user equipment (UE), includes performing a channel measurement (CM) on a first subset of a set of non-zero-power (NZP) CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources and an interference measurement (IM) on at least a second subset of the set of NZP CSI-RS resources. The second subset includes one or more NZP CSI-RS ports. The IM is performed according to assumptions: each NZP CSI-RS port in the second subset corresponds to an interference transmission layer, the IM being in accordance with a set of energy per resource element ratios each associated with one NZP CSI-RS resource in the second subset; and other interference not associated with the interference transmission layers is on the first and second subsets. The method includes generating a channel state information (CSI) report based on the CM and IM and transmitting the CSI report to a network.

Abstract: A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, obtaining uplink information associated with a downlink path, wherein the uplink information includes operational parameters used by a plurality of communication devices for transmitting wireless signals on a plurality of uplink paths; performing, based on the uplink information, a plurality of measurements of the plurality of uplink paths; identifying a measurement from the plurality of measurements that is below a threshold, thereby indicating an affected uplink path of the plurality of uplink paths; initiating a first filtering of the affected uplink path, wherein the initiating is based on the identifying and wherein the first filtering is based upon one or more first filtering parameters; and receiving instructions comprising one or more updated filtering parameters, wherein the instructions are received by the system at a port of the system. Abstract: The invention relates methods for triggering channel quality feedback for at least one of plural component carriers of a communication system available for downlink transmission. The invention suggests a mechanism for triggering channel quality feedback from a terminal where the downlink control signaling overhead for the selection of component carrier(s) to be reported on is minimized. One aspect of the invention is a new interpretation of a predetermined format for dedicated control information comprising a CQI request flag, which is depending on the status of the CQI request flag. In case the CQI request flag is set at least one further bit of the dedicated control information is interpreted as information indicative of the one or more component carriers available for downlink transmission to the terminal and the terminal is providing channel quality feedback on the channel quality experienced on the indicated component carrier or component carriers.
