摘要: A transmission method includes: generating one or more transfer frames that each store one or more streams used for content transfer; and transmitting the one or more generated frames through broadcast, each of the one or more streams storing one or more second transfer units, each of the one or more second transfer units storing one or more first transfer units, and each of the one or more first transfer units storing one or more Internet Protocol (IP) packets. In at least one stream among the one or more streams, each of the first transfer units positioned at a head contains reference clock information indicating time used for reproduction of the content.

The example apparatus also includes a memory in circuit with the processor, the memory to: store a first end timestamp in the first data record indicative of a first time at which the first media presentation session ended; store a second end timestamp in the second data record indicative of a second time at which the second media presentation session ended; and store the first end timestamp in the second data record.

摘要: Systems, devices and processes are described to adapt segment requests placed by an autonomous media player during media streaming to compensate for fluctuations in the bandwidth consumed by the requested segments due to variances in the underlying video content. By providing predictive data about the bandwidth consumption of upcoming video segments, client devices can adapt requests for future segments accordingly. Further, predictive consumption data can be shared between players operating within shared bandwidth to assist players needing additional bandwidth for upcoming video sequences.

Groups of fragments may be combined to generate a unique stream by pulling fragments from two or more of the groups of fragments. Further, fragmenting may be performed before watermarking, and fragments may be pulled and watermarked upon request.

摘要: A method comprises receiving content from a source, and generating multiple content streams each comprising the received content. Each content stream includes segments comprising respective portions of the received content. Different segmenting is utilized in generating respective ones of the content streams such that the segments in each of the content streams are offset in time relative to corresponding segments in the other ones of the streams. For example, generating the multiple content streams may comprise segmenting n content streams such that each content stream comprises segments of length Ts with corresponding segments in adjacent ones of the content streams being offset from one another by an offset Tg. Such an arrangement ensures that latency shift upon switching between one of the content streams and another content stream in a different set of multiple content streams at a client device can be limited to a value approximated by Tg.

摘要: Embodiments herein describe a content distribution system that removes time-dependent promotional content before providing a recording of a media presentation (e.g., show or program) to a video-on-demand (VOD) provider. To receive Nielsen credit for a subscriber watching a recording of the media presentation using VOD, the recording must be almost the same as the live version of the media presentation which includes the original program content and the commercial advertisements shown during commercial breaks. However, some shows also include promotional content that a telecommunication or cable provider adds to the media presentation to promote other shows or events being broadcasted later. By the time the user views the recording, however, the promotional content may already be outdated. The embodiments herein describe techniques for removing time-dependent promotional content from a media presentation before the recording of the media presentation is sent to VOD providers.

摘要: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for multi-device media broadcasting or recording with active control. A controller may preview media streams from a plurality of source devices, and may select between the streams, add processing or additional content to the streams, and provide an edited or mixed stream to one or more client or recipient devices. In many implementations, mixing or selective presentation of streams may be accomplished with little to no delay via a lightweight signaling and chunk identification change protocol. In other implementations, processing and mixing instructions may be provided to client devices, which may retrieve the streams and process them locally, reducing or eliminating delay from an intermediary processor or mixer.
